So, according to this article today, LSU has actually sold more of their ticket allotment than Clemson???

quote:

Clemson vs. LSU, Chick-Fil-A Bowl, Dec. 31. The game was officially announced as a sellout earlier this week, but tickets do remain on sale through the allotments given to the schools. Clemson has sold 9,000 of its tickets and is continuing to sell. This game should also draw a large crowd, considering the quality of the game and proximity to Clemson.

LSU was at 10,000 over a week ago.

I am sure there fans are buying tickets on other ticket sites, just like LSU fans, but surprised that we actually have sold more of our formal allotment. What is it a 2 hour drive for most of their fans?

The ticket sales from the other ACC teams are a joke.

Go look at the ACC ticket sales for the Orange Bowl over the past decade. It is pathetic. The ACC is a joke.

The fact that LSU fans aren't making the trip is embarrassing.... We can't make the national championship every year guys

LSU fans should start by trying to stay for a whole game at home. Asking them to buy tickets and actually go to Atlanta to watch LSU play in a second tier bowl is totally asking too much. Baby steps first.

I agree.... You know the saying- you don't know what you have until its gone... It doesn't matter who or where the tigers play, I enjoy every second of it

I think we found the guy that is less fired up about the Chicken bowl than most LSU fans (I didn't think that was possible).

Actually sounds like he was too fired up, or fired up too many times, from the reports.

It took me a while to realize it is the match that makes the game. The LSU/Clemson game is considered the third best bowl matchup and is only one of three bowl games featuring two top ten teams. The Sponsor, Chick-Fil-A, is the big winner in this. They normally get the SEC #6 and but got the SEC #4 and one of the better bowl matches. Better than the Rose, Orange, Sugar, Cotton, Citrus, Cap One,etc. Only behind the BCSNC and the Fiesta in team rankings.

The problem is that a few years down the road the recognition the team gets in history will only be for the Chicken Bowl...

I think the turn out will acutally be pretty good. Why buy shitty seats from the school at face when you can get much better seats online at below face.

This is difficult to believe...If you look at Stub hub on their sideline, they have about 1/3 the amount of tickets available compared to us. To me, that means they will outnumber us 3-1 or so...

Their fans are doing the same things our fans are doing buying them from a 2nd market at much cheaper price. Clemson's AD wrote a letter asking their fans to buy tickets from the school.

quote:

To begin, each school is responsible for the sale of their allotment of tickets. In this year's case that is 18,000 for Clemson. We use approximately 3,000 tickets for players, coaches and staff, leaving approximately 15,000 for public sale. I know the Clemson fans will help us sell those tickets not only to support the team, but also to help our bottom line. Unsold tickets become a cost of the game.

So how many of you that are criticizing LSU fans for not making the trip stepped up and ordered tickets from LSU before the bowl selections were announced? I did but unfortunately my wife has a medical issue to deal with and we can't go. So now I'm getting killed trying to sell them.

Sounds about right.

Isn't Clemson, SC only about 5 hours from Atlanta?

Our fans just aren't excited about this game. Nobody I know is going.
