He gave everybody a chance this weekend
Not really.
Thursday was Bourgeois then LaMarche in garbage time. Not too out of the ordinary.
Friday was Fury, Rumbelow, Bourgeois, Berry in the 8th in a close game, then Cotton for the save.
Saturday was Bonvillain, Berry, then Newman to finish the game once LSU lost the lead.
Really the only out of the ordinary guys Mainieri used out of the pen in a real situation was Fury and Berry. Mainieri may have said it was going to be a revolving door this weekend.. but in reality it wasn't.

But he forced the issue at times, he pulled pitchers when they didn't necessarily need to be pulled.
Fury wouldn't have normally been the first out of the pen on Friday and this was Newman's first outing against an SEC opponent.
Back to Berry, if you aren't convinced that Mainieri knows what he has in him, keep in mind that he was not used at all in the postseason last year and it can be argued that the bullpen was thinner in 2012.
I'm fairly certain that he could have looked lights out this weekend and Mainieri still wouldn't have enough confidence to use him in a postseason situation.
If we see him at all in the regionals/supers, etc. it will be because we are blowing somebody out it will be because we have no chance in a game and don't want to waste any more arms. (Nolan Cain/Ryan Byrd CWS game 2 situation.)

Berry would have had a role in the SEC tournament if he pitched well today. Beyond that.. not much. You don't need many pitchers to get through a regional and super regional if you win like LSU plans to do.
