Not really. He does a bit but his main operation has always simply to be sure he has more talent than everyone else. This is why he failed and would fail worse had he stayed in the NFL. He doesn’t actually develop in his coaching. He needs more talent to beat everyone.

He is a great coach, don’t get me wrong, but he has won most of his titles at Bama becaue of out talenting his opponents or injuring their star.

2009 they knock out the more dawning heisman finalist early in the game with a dirty hit.

2011 need the powers that be to push them into the title game without even winning their division and losing at home, while OSU lost on the road by the same score and had better overall wins.

2012 he nearly lost to LSU to a team with a struggling offense that ignited against his vaunted defense.

They won a garbage title in 2020. It’s not a shock that he’s been successful, but they have gotten so many breaks, you can’t claim their isn’t something going on.
