How so? I'd like to read your logic in this. Thanks

I was one of the ones that wanted Pelini if/when miles left in 07. I still think he can coach, but Chavis is clearly the man. I remember living in fear when I read all about "3rd & Chavis" from UT people. Never seen it.

I told all my Husker friends he would dissapoint. His run defense was ok, but his pass scheme would be awful. Yep, its awful.

Nebraska had the number 1 pass defense 2 or 3 years ago. How is that awful?

Bo was fortunate to have Kyle Williams, Claude Wroten and Glen Dorsey here. He then goes to Nebraska and has Suh and Crick. Life is gonna be tougher without elite DT 's like that.

Lulz.

The more intriguing question: Tepper or Malveto?

Was never a fan of Bo Pelini as a coach when he was here. He's done better than I expected at Nebraska, but a lot of that has to do with schedule.

and Vice versa, assistants of successful coaches tend to look successful.
After 5 years the type of assistants around you reflect what kind of HC you are

I'm not sold on Pelini as a HC but things need to be kept in perspective. Like every coach there will be some skeletons in his closet. Our D's from '05-'07 were good to great but there were some exceptions.

His approach to Arky in '06 and '07 was terrible and I'm not convinced he knew how to defend a spread O (although it won't show statistically, we struggled to stop Tebow in '07).

But Chief has laid some eggs on D as well (see AU and OM in '10 and WVU last year). Heck, Bama gave up 302 yds rushing to GA Southern last year. It happens.

LSU-Arky '07 385 yds rushing (includes OT)
LSU-Arky '06 298 yds rushing
LSU-Auburn '10 526 yds O
LSU-OM '10 420 yds O
LSU-WVU '11 533 yds O
Bama-GA Southern '11

lol at people who had pelini on their short list for when Les' time is up

Most of them think that if a coach goes apeshit on the sidelines, he must be a good coach.
