Say what you will about the umps, CPM's decision making, pitching, etc. Blake Dean has his boys raking last night. They battled every minute. CST interviewed him after the 5th when they were up 7-6, and he knew he needed more to win. He kept on his boys and they responded with another 4 runs in the 6th. I don't know about you, but add him to the short list of names to call after CPM retires. Ada-boy Blake

He looks to be a natural take over from PM.

UNO is good. LSU should have won, but there is zero shame losing to an up-and-coming squad like the one on the Lakefront. Blake is doing a great job there and will be poached by a big program sooner than later.

i think with a good year, he doesn't wait till Paul Mainieri retires and goes out and gets himself a big time job...

You're an idiot. PM will be here a few more years, and Blake will be ready by then.

Except for when he beats LSU... I could give a rats arse how well a former tiger is doing when they are playing/beating the current tigers.

If Matt Flynn somehow went on to coach Alabama in the future, will you be "proud" to see him kick our arse? LOL

Hypothetical CPM Retires after the 2019 National Championship win. Would you rather Blake Dean or Andy Cannizaro? Lets say Dean is doing extremely well at small UNO AND Cannizaro is doing "OK" at a large SEC School.

Oooh, I say they both ought to get an interview, even if it is just a courtesy. I really like Cannizaro. Who knows in a few years though? I don't think CPM is ready yet, but def before 5 years rolls around.

Blake Dean won't be at UNO in 2019. Young up and coming head coaches don't just stick around at a mid major waiting for their dream job to be open

I hate to lose to any in-state team, but I have to say if there is one team in Louisiana that I won't be bitter about losing to, it is UNO. Blake Dean has done a great job with that program up to this point. I wouldn't mind seeing him as HC of the Tigers one day if he continues to have success!
