Yeah. We should find a defensive coordinator that gets 3 and outs on every drive. Anything less is unacceptable.

The delusions in this fan base are shocking.

Maybe Penn State will go for Kiffin. Would love to see that smug piece of shite leave the SEC.

Penn state didn’t pay a 50 million buyout and fire Franklin to hire baker.

I could see Ole Miss having interest in Sumrall which would open Tulane.

I would think he's the exact type of guy you target after a buyout like that. They don't have the pockets to go write another massive check to a huge name.

The word on the street is they're not paying for the buyout. Adidas is paying it.

He’ll end up like Aranda if he goes to Penn State. They would be foolish to hire him as a first time head coach. He will be a good head coach, but Penn State is not the place for a first time head coaching job.

Baylor is not Penn State. Penn State is a better job. Not a great comparison. Baker is unproven, but that’s the end of the comparisons. Aranda is a completely different style of coach as well.

Blake Baker is a Tulane alum and played linebacker for the Wave.

It would be a good place for him to start as a head coach. Tulane will certainly reach out if/when Sumrall bolts

Thanks for proving my point. Would you want Aranda as LSU’s HC?

Oh man.

PSU has a 5 Billion dollar endowment. PSU owns the state of Pennsylvania and their alumni contribute.

Apparently 4 boosters wrote a 40 million check to get his arse out of town now, no monthly payments a real buy out. PSU has plenty of money for whatever they want to do.

Yes, perfect fit
They can increase his salary by a million and his wife could be "home" with the kids for atleast another 3-5 years

I’d be willing to bet that in his contract and agreement to come to LSU from Missouri was a possible HCIW role. Who knows.

Get BK a NC. He will retire.

Fox sports saying he is one of 5 that Penn St will want to talk to and with all these openings coming up, get ready for those distractions.

Their fans would fricking riot if Baker was the hire.

Baker has a perfect setup to be patient here. He’s the highest paid DC and he’s never going to have a bad defense here. His profile will continue to grow and with that will come bigger offers. He can be the next Dan Lanning and wait for the right one to come along if he wants to. If he heads to a G5 or somewhere like UCLA, VA Tech, Oklahoma St or Kentucky, he’s giving away that leverage.

Here’s the other thing to keep in mind. Most schools tend to look at OCs first over DCs today. The DCs that get prime offers are those at the very top tier of the sport. Baker is headed there fast, but he’s not going to be the first name looked at for a top-tier P4 quite yet.

I’m sure Baker also knows that his popularity, LA ties and success make him a potential candidate to take over here at some point. Maybe that’s later down the road, but if Kelly retires he would get strong consideration.
