Billy Napier

Billy Napier is a name that is coming up often. I understand he comes from the Saban regime, but is he actually a proven head football coach. He’s had one stint and it is at the University Louisiana at Lafayette. He turned down HC jobs to Auburn and South Carolina. I understand those jobs aren’t appealing especially the mess at Auburn due to their biggest donor wanting too much control over the football program which creates a mess.
But Napier has had two great years at ULL but is he the answer to turn LSU football around even with the lack of experience?

Same progression as Fickell just missing the power 5 coach title.
You have people here wanting to hire aranda (who I really like btw) just because he’s at a power 5. Even though his marquee win is against an Iowa St team by 2 points. The same Iowa st team that Napier beat last year.

Lack of HC experience. I wouldn’t hire Aranda due to lack of HC experience.

He's a good coach but is he big-time ready. It's like throwing the dice. We need a coach with national appeal for recruiting and can develop a winning program.

We hired literally one of the worst coaches in Ole Miss history who was fired for not meeting even their low standards, but you think someone at LSU is going to draw the line at Napier?

Maybe one day Napier will be a top coach- but that day is far, far away. Woodward needs a big fish because we have so many issues on the field and beyond!
