Cowherd is right about LSU. It's amazing that some of the rantards can't see how bad a coach he is.

We did not have enough talent on this year's team to overcome the coaching.

I agree it is more this, than it is misusing the talent we have.

so is the problem developing the talent we recruit?

This. And perhaps even recruiting developable talent -- which I think is an underrated/underappreciated attribute (and something I don't really see this staff focusing much on) in this age of focusuing almost purely on recruiting services star ratings.

They knew it long before any of us wanted to realize the truth.

Did he really say that? (We don't get Cowherd in Shreveport)

Every time I read about the national media pegging LSU for misusing its talent, or pointing out all of our woes, time clock management, etc. I just get angrier, and angrier, and angrier at Miles and Co.

FTR, I agree with everything the national media has to say about LSU. In 2 years we've gone from an elite national power to almost an afterthought (until we do something stupid of course.)

Isn't this just another way to say "most underachieving team"?

Won't a sophomore QB almost always pull down the rest of your talent?

Also, this Bill King statement is BS.WE misused one player who is very thin and a true freshman.Who else did we misuse.Randle was on the field a lot this year. It's not the coaches fault Jefferson didn't throw the ball to him.Maybe he wasn't open some of those times. The O-line was terrible and maybe some different guys should have been on the field.Even Ciron Black didn't play that well. This crap with everyone saying we don't play freshman and don't know how to use talent is just an insane overreaction because our offense sucked.Shepard could've and probably should've been played more but who else did we not use or misuse. We only had 4 freshman play.Shepard has been discussed adnauseum,Randle played a lot and was behind 2 future pros,Claiborne played and maybe should've played more but maybe he just wasn't ready and Josh Downs played a good bit and the reason he didn't play more had to do with size and the fact that 2 better players(Woods/Nevis) were ahead of him.So basically all of this BS talk boils down to Russell Shepard who was not ready to play a ton of football.he could've been used more but 1 player does not mean we are the #1 team for misusing players.

...misused talent at "skill positions"

(NO misused talent at OL or DL....just not much real talent ready to contribute this year, IMO)

I think the problem is similar to what Gary Crowton said, LSU has too many weapons and the coaching staff is out thinking itself trying to get said players involved. Next year with Lafell and dickson gone I think it will allow the passing game to open up because with all the bubble screens and reverses Lafell was called to execute it was a deliberate attempt to elevate his draft stock. Hopefully the coaching staff stops calling bubble screens to tolliver. Hopefully someone else steps in to fill that role.
