Biggest thing I take from the presser:

I was one of the fans that wanted Dixon, Smart, Pastner, etc.. and was saying lets throw 2.2 mil a year and get one of these guys. Maybe we couldve got one of those guys but they wouldve been here for financial reasons. Jones is at LSU because he wants to be, he is a true Tiger and if you couldnt see that from his genuine enthusiam on that podium youre blind. Im stoked about the future of the basketball program and I have no doubt Coach Jones will do everything in his power to turn this program around and get it back to what it should be.

Any new coach is obviously gonna be optimistic, humorous, and say what the fans want to hear. This was the case, but I can tell he's got tourney fever and wants to bring back the glory days to the city. 1 step down, now let's recruit and see what we can put together.

From the presser today, I don't care what the pay him. That's what johnson made, and I think he's already a better coach and fit than johnson.

I don't care if they would've hired Phil Jackson. I'm not a big basketball guy. And yes I do cheer for them and hope they do good, just not die hard like football and baseball.

He said in his presser, if you bleed purple and gold you want to see all programs succeed. I believe JJ bleeds purple and gold, and, while he may or may not be able to get us back to the "Glory Days", if he is not successful I don't think it will be from lack of devotion to the program and total effort.
