No not really. We've already lost 2 games. This game really doesn't mean shite other than beating a rival.

LSU needs to go all out. TAF needs to pay the refs, put Jamarcus back in Metts uni in white face and have a sniper atop BDS to hit kneecaps.

if we're bringing back old players, can we get Minter, Brockers, PP7, Reid and Tyrann back? I'd get a DE too, but I didn't wanna be greedy.

it'll be a good sign that LSU is not "off the map" to recruits.
I think that this is a lot of chicken little. LA is a fertile recruiting ground and Saban and Bama are at the point now that he can just show up at any 5 star recruits house in any state and say "It's time".

Having said that, 1/9 was the biggest game. We win, we are still on the same level as Bama. We lost, and we are a middle of the pack SEC team.

Just throwing this out there, I've always thought that UT in 2006 was a watershed win for Les. We had lost to AU and UF, and were on the road and it was a must win. 2006 ended up great and 2007 of course was awesome.

This to a degree. Yes it's a rival, but one that has won the last two BCSNC games. Also like pointed out, one that we compete against for top flight recruits.

How about last year on 4th and 1 at the Alabama 25 with a chance to go up by 10 with 8 minutes remaining, he took Mettenberger, Hill, Hillard, Shepard,Ford, out of the game to stand by him on the sidelines and put Spencer Ware in to run a QB sneak into Alabama's massive D-Line. Stuffed for no gain. Pretty big blunder in my mind.

No not the biggest game in his career...
People keep talking about 1/9/12, like we all have PTSD, and that one hurt no doubt. But the one that he really needed was 11/3/12, IMO that one hurt worse. Because they were who we thought they were and we let them off the hook...

Miles really needed that one just to ease the psyche of the Tiger Nation...

That was the past and we live in the now... Right now, this is a spot that Miles has historically shown that he responds in... No one outside of the Miles household gives us a chance? Check... Big Underdog? Check... Chance to play the "No respect card"? Big Check...

We have a puncher's chance and an offense with a pulse...

They were not much help on 1/9/12.

Better for Miles to get blown out thant to lose this game due to a time management mistake.

I think that's why it's such a big game for Les. He knows the end goal isn't attainable anymore. But he still has to prove a lot about his team. This game goes far in that sense.

I do think this is a very important game for him, because no, more than ever, want to see if Miles is up to the task. The 2 losses earlier this year amplify this game, from my perspective at least.

if you think the defense was an issue on 1/9, then I don't really know what to say

but if a recruit selects a team based on one game result then piss on 'em.

Its not 1 game, we have lost 2 so far this yr possibly 4-5. Lost 3 last yr. Recruits will look at the overall program not 1 game I agree but its not just 1 game that we are losing every yr! 2 losses or more seems to be where Miles' teams like to be.

As if he didn't already have a few "biggest games in Miles career" ... Short Answer: I have never been a fan of Les, and probably never will be, but since it is the next game of the season, I would say "Yes."

Long Answer: All the sunshine pumpers try to be upbeat, and talk about how bad it was in the 90's. That was then, this is now. College Football is no where near what it was in the 90's. Recruits follow all the social media, and sites like this. Recruits are most interested in playing Sunday ball and where they can get the chance to showcase their talents. Recruiting is a season in and to itself, so if you choke on national television, that equates to 2 losses (1 for the game and 1 for the recruiting phase). So when you show up to play for the "'Ship" without even the slightest hint of preparedness, it is most embarrassing to say the least. Look at Gunner Kiehl who went to Notre Dame the next day, for example. Bottom line is this, when your team is embarrassed in front of the entire nation, that stigma stays with you until you can overcome it. We had that chance last year with Alabama, but 3rd and Chavis got us and here we are. So, yes, yes it is Miles' biggest game in his career Saturday. Period.

wrong, this could be 4 loss season....BIG deal.

then if we win..still bad, which would show we should have ;likely beaten GA and Ole Miss.

this game has a lot of significance although no national meaning.

Probably the biggest one since 1/9. Though the same could be said for last years LSU-Bama game.

If we beat Bama, Miles gets to stay longer. I'll enjoy the win but I won't enjoy Miles staying longer.
