Probably not much, but it's funny that Aaron Fitt seems to place such emphasis on the "big" crowds they played to. It seems like he's not very aware of LSU's attendance numbers.

If you really did, then
I didnt. Although Maineiri does answer emails. I emailed him once just to see if he would reply and he did. Asked him about the Hall of Fame..he didnt really have an answer but he cc'ed the email to Eddie Nunez who could better answer my question.
Ole Eddie did not, however, reply to the email.

The CSF crowd VS USC on Saturday was maybe 2000 at the most.... Not real crowded. I did get some good looks from both sides being properly adorned in LSU sweatshirt. Many times made exchanged glances with players in the warmup circle. I'm sure "the LSU guy in the stands" was mentioned in the dugout. Funny. A good home presence is gonna be the tigers advantage fo sho.
They are televising 2 of the 3 out here on the W. Coast...

Gonna save for Sunday night.
I am thinking all the games will be somewhat low scoring. Saturday could be somewhat higher scoring.

An exciting weekend ahead verus CS Fullerton.
CSF is 4-2 on the road this season. In their 4 wins, they have only given up 9 runs total. They played TCU on the road and won 2 of 3. This CSF team will not be intimidated on the road. Their last meeting verus LSU was back in 2003. CSF holds a 4-3 advantage all-time verus LSU but is 1-3 at the Box.
Cal State has only given up 23 earned runs on the season through 11 games and has only served up one gopher ball all year. the titans have won 7 out of their last 8 games.
Looks like a low scoring weekend with great pitching. I would give the pitching edge to CSF and the fact that they have won on the road this year makes them more comfortable coming into the Box. It will be a great test for the Tigers young pitching staff. LSU is batting over .320 while CSF pitching is only allowing opponents to hit .217 on the season. Sounds like an early Super Regional type atmosphere in March.
I think this series can go either way but bc the Tigers are at home, I look for each team to take one game with the rubber game on Sunday to be up for grabs. I will go LSU wins a tough draining series 2 games to one.

As good and as talented as I think this team is,I fear we are a long way from that "connection" or team unity or what ever that is that picks the last man up and drives the next man forward! I think the CSF series would be a good time to take a couple good butt whoopens to inspire an "in the trenches together"team that knows its role.AS of now everything from starting roles to batting order is being felt out by individual performance(with the exception of Mahtooks quiet leadership role)

I think this will be a huge test and their staff is going to be a very challenging one. I look for us to lose Friday, as O'Connell or whatever his name is (their big 6'6" guy) will give us trouble. He is not an overpowering pitcher. I think he gives us trouble with an assortment of off speed stuff and outduals Gausman. Friday, CSF 5 LSU 2.
Saturday should be a good one as their best power guy will be going against Alsup, IMO. This is a guy with a 1.80 ERA or so and will probanly have about 11 K's. I like the way we traditionally play on Saturdays and Alsup will hang with him pitch for pitch. I look for a big 3 run HR late to be the difference. saturday, LSU 6 CFS 4.
Sunday will be a rubber match with Pill vs. McCune. Right now, McCune isn't ready for the big time. Pill is another solid pitcher with an ERA under 2. I am not trying to be negative, but I see this being a bit ugly...but it's another step we endure to win the SEC c'ship in 2011. Sunday, CSF 11 LSU 4.
The fact that all three Fullerton starters are RHP's and all three are nasy will be the difference. I look for good hitting weekend from Mahtook and Edward. Look for Lowery to insert himself into a more prominent role. HR's from Matook, Edward, Lowery, and Snick will keep us in the games. I just see Sunday being the metaphorical sign for where THEY are vs. where we REALLY ARE. We're a damn good team...not yet a top 8. They're 8-3 and have lost to good teams. We're 11-1 and have honestly beaten maybe 2 teams that will be in regionals in Southeatern and Princeton and that is because the latter will win the Ivy League and get a 4 seed auto. Wake and Holy Cross were BAD.

Just a few things to fine tune about your post.
Friday night starter is pre-season All Anerican Noe Ramirez. He has been stout this year.
Saturday night will likely be Tyler Pill.
Sunday will be 6"6" Collin O'connel. Dude has been ballin lately. .80 era I believe.
Look for all 3 to pitch backwards early on staring off with off speed pitches and then sneaking in 90-95 mph fastballs.

I am a LSU fan, I pull for them to sweep. I always do, I always will. You have too if you are a LSU fan if you don't then you have attendance numbers of those other guys. That's why they don't get good numbers they don't "believe".

If nothing else, I think (or hope) that this weekend will bring out the best in the LSU fanbase. A classy program is coming to town and the LSU baseball fans normally go out of their way to show respect in that regard.
Here is to a great weekend of baseball (and hopefully LSU winning the series)...

You should have a minimum, 2 cups of coffee before posting in the A.M.
Tigers win close games Fri. and Sat., get blown out on Sun.

I just looked at their ERA.
they have 5 pitchers under 2.00.
they have one pitcher who has yet to give up an earned run.
CAL State Fullerton wins 2 out of 3.
I am not a Cal State Fullerton fan. I am just sayin'.
So... predictions
LSU wins one, 5-4.
CSF wins two by identical 3-2 scores.

Has Manieri set rotation for weekend yet? I'd like to see McCune, Gausman and T Jones, in that order.....Alsup walked himself out of weekend?
