He was trashed hard on here in the beginning of the year. A lot of posters said he wasn’t SEC material and that he was only on the team as a favor to his father.

It was great to watch him be the hero last night

Let this be a reminder that we don’t always know everything about a kid just because we watched a few games on television.

I ragged him a lot this year. But he stepped up last night. So happy for the kid

He really turned it around. I was 100% wrong about him. I didn't think he belonged in a LSU uniform, but I was certainly wrong.

My issues weren't as much with Bianco himself, as they were for Mainieri playing Bianco. But either way you slice it, I was wrong.

I think he was the MVP from last night, and that is no shade to Dugas at all. His defense was incredible.

His ability to play centerfield, and play it well, has been so huge this season with Gio missing a lot of time.

Perhaps he read all the comments here and spent some extra time working on his weaknesses?

Maybe even learned a thing or two about baseball from the experts on the rant since Paul is so shitty??

Drew Bianco got it done in the field and at the plate last night.

Always good to see a kid succeed, or anyone for that matter, after overcoming adversity.

He was officially named Player of the Game. Deserved. Defense saved a few runs, and he got us a few runs.

Congrats to him on going from nobody wanting him on team, to literally being crucial to our success. Awesome

Dude is a dog, gets everything from his ability. Every team needs this type of guy.

He was playing like trash earlier this year to be fair. Baseball players move in and out of slumps all the time. He could have easily been a Beloso.

I'm guilty. From what he had shown, I felt Hampton should have been given more opportunities and that Bianco still being in despite his struggles at the plate was the wrong move. The Hampton part may still be an accurate assessment, we will never know, but Drew has made the most of his opportunity down the stretch and LSU would not have won the regional without him. Very happy for him!

I never said anything bad about Bianco.

On a completely unrelated side note can the admins delete my posts on Bianco from the beginning of the season.

He was playing terrible, now he's fun to watch. Hitting and hustle, I love it.

The thing I was saying about Bianco was that he was trying too hard and putting too much pressure on himself. I’ll apologise for thinking he was kind of a head case who probably wouldn’t turn things around in time. That being said..I’ve never thought he didn’t have the tools to play in the SEC.

I don’t think there is any way we would have overcome the 1 run deficit against that closer they brought in without Bianco hitting the homer.

That closer was dialed in and we weren’t stringing and hits together. The homer was the only way IMO.

Agreed.

I expect this same thread to be made about his pops this time next year as mike leads our program back to prominence

I agree. Fans only see about 5% of what the coaches see at practice and workouts. It was clear that Mainieri saw great qualities in Bianco, and Bianco is finally showing the fans what the coaches have seen.

In short, Mainieri was right. The Rant was wrong, again.
