Best way to I-10 west after game

Usually you can take river road out if you are in the north west parking area. Then go past pastime and take left at light get on ramp.
This past weekend they had us turn before the light and head out to old bridge. Most right turns were blocked until you got to Choctaw. Then had to circle back around to 110.
Why did they not let us turn at the light and will this be the normal procedure in the future?

North of stadium around the Exxon station. Little walk but a breeze to leave

The fastest way to get there is to cross the levee and swim the river.

There is a church on E Chimes that charges $50. Postgame, you’ll turn onto Chimes and run back into State and then take left on Dalrymple. Hop on right there and you’re out.
