My favorite combination...I just wish we would go back to purple and NOT blue.

It’s not blue, so there’s that.

Gotta match the stripe combos though. Preferably to the shoulder stripes

The traditional gold, white, gold should be worn most of the time, and the gold, purple, gold can be worn a couple of times vs rent a wins.

We wore gold, white, gold against FSU, Grambling, State, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, and Missouri. That's 9 of our 13 games.

Last year, we wore gold/white/gold against FSU, Southern, State, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, UAB, A&M, UGA, and Purdue. That was 12 of our 14 games.

SO, over the last 2 seasons, we've worn our traditional uniforms in 21 of 27 games.

holy exaggeration.

You don’t see Alabama getting stupid with their uniforms

Michigan has. Ohio State has. Oklahoma has. Notre Dame has. There are very few programs as boring and conforming as Alabama and Penn St. The kids like wearing different stuff. That shouldn't bother people as much as it does.

I always hated those uniforms because I grew up in the Hallman era. I’m coming around, though. Looked sharp the other day.

I may be in the minority (don't care), but I would love to see the gold/purple/golds broken out against at least one SEC opponent every year. When's the last time we've seen Bama, UF, Auburn, etc.... wear their whites in Tiger Stadium when we rocked the purples? A few decades at least. It's time.

I actually understand getting away from the darkest of dark purples. It looks like Syracuse, Older navy blue Jersey or even Auburn‘s Older Navy jersey.

It looks somewhat antiquated in getting the lighter purple made sense. But a darker version that we saw in the Reliaqqyest bowl looked fine with me.

This is all true.

I’m an old man and love our traditional Gold Pants - White Jersey - Gold Helmets,
but even I can appreciate the occasional change up to All Whites, white - purple - white or gold - purple - gold. I also have some respect for the kids wearing the uniforms that they enjoy the change up.

My humble opinion says that they became much lighter from 2009 up until about 2015 or so.

Color of the purple isn’t different from 1988 to 2023. It’s the difference in a night game in bad lighting in Tiger Stadium in 88 and a day game.

Said this before that while it was weird to see this combo in a bowl game, they really seemed to pop contrasted with the white and red of Wisconsin. Looked good. I think when we fans see these we instantly get deflated because it means we are playing McNeese or Texas State or something.

Since 1994, the only time we've worn purple at home in a P5 game was against Oregon St to open the 2004 season. Only other times we haven't worn white jerseys at home against a P5 team was against Vandy in 1996 and against State in 2016.

First appearance of the Dinardo gold jerseys. That was when the NCAA said you had to get permission from the road team to wear white at home.

Purples at home v. S. Carolina in 2015.

Spurrier was playing psychological warfare against LSU, putting us in purple, playing off blowouts of LSU when he coached at Florida.

At the end of the day, after a Fournette and Guice shellacquing, the Ole Ball Coach retired from football.

Fun fact; we've never played Texas State in football. Most of TXST's history they were a D2 school. I wouldn't be surprised if we schedule them as an easy non-con before the end of the decade.
