will say that dean might be one of the best CLUTCH hitters LSU has had in a while..
Are you kidding me? you're gonna give me the "WTF"? Dean re-wrote some LSU record books, not to mention climbed almost to the top for career HRs.
thunderbird, you're the stat-master, right? You have a link to show Dan and educate him

Furniss is definitely up there. #1 in the SEC for career home runs, RBI, hits, doubles and total bases.

Mouton and Gary Hymel(sp) were beast. Todd Walker could take it out to all fields.

If Hawpe had been about 10 lbs heavier and more physically developed while at LSU many of those line drive doubles off the wall would have been over the fence, that guy was a hitting machine. Did he hit 28 doubles his last season?
Posted on 6/28/10 at 7:38 pm to Dan In Real Life
cresse and furniss hit moon shots
Posted on 6/28/10 at 7:41 pm to tirebiter
totally agree, he was a doubles machine

Wonder how many HRs Larson would have hit with today's newer bats? Id say still at least 20-25.

Larson + the juice + bats measuring at -6 = epic homeruns

Everyone was hitting with the same bats back then and Larson was better than all of them. Whoever said Larson doesn't deserve to be mentioned is a flat out moron.
Larson, walker, mouton, furniss, Clark. : no particular order, those are my top 5 for shear power
Didn't Zeph Zinsman or whatever hit a bunch of monster shots before he was thrown off the team? I'm not saying he belongs here, I just seem to remember some big arse home runs and him rounding the bases with his arms out. When he actually played sober.

for pure power, i have to go with Larson
Clark had pop in '08 for sure though
Furniss is probably my favorite Tiger of all time to watch though

I'll stick with what I said all day long.
I think that whoever had a top 5 without Belle is a flat out moron, but hey, that's just me.

I agree with this. Nathan Dunn hit some moon shots that had the "wow" factor though.

Did anyone besides Mouton hit the apartment building behind left field at the old Box?
Also the shot Belle hit into the terrace at the dome vs. Miss State made 15,000 people go ooooohh!

Joey Bell. If you think otherwise, then you never saw Bell play.
