Just like Emory did not start to open the season. Heard is not going to start to open the season. Neither enrolled early so they both are going to have the same disadvantage of not having the spring.

Heard very well could end up in the starting lineup at some point next season but he will not start the year there when you bring back 5 starters who have the Spring to build more chemistry. I still wish Dellinger could have developed at Center but that just was not the case.

People need to realize how rare it is to start as a true freshman at an SEC school. Obviously we had 2 this year but that should in no way be the expectation.

That being said, CBK has made it clear that the best will play so if a TFR is better than what we have then he will play. My expectation is that Heard will get some meaningful snaps but will not start this coming year.

The best Oline starting five will be the five that trot out for the FSU game. Between now and then, the coaches will accumulate a ton of data that you and I will never see. They will try a bunch of combinations, too.

They will likely try Dellinger at center again, as you proposed. If he can capture that position, that allows a chance to get a more physical player on the field instead of Turner. Heard is a possibility. But they might find someone more productive in the portal. Plus, Dellinger might have no more success this offseason than he had last year at Center.

Heard will be at LT by the bama game.

Man that’s lofty. I do love Heard’s moxy when interviewed and said he was going to take Campbells spot on the left. I really do think Heard and Womack were the jewels of this signing class and will make tiger fans very happy.

Offensive linemen typically take 1-3 years to develop and build strength. We played 2 freshmen this year out of need and they did really well. Now our fanbase will forever expect every 4 or 5 star freshman to be Will Campbell.

Heard will be a good one, but if he doesn't play a single down next year, that's ok.

I remember people calling for Dumervil to start as a freshman. After 3 years and 2 different coaching staffs, he had 1 start, limited playing time, and transferred to Maryland.

I'd like to see Martinez at C. He looked good there each time he came in.

Why do people think Martinez can beat out Turner at center? He had a chance all season and didn't do it, and Turner was given the most improved award at the football banquet.

I know LSU is looking for a center in the portal, but I doubt they would be if they thought someone better than Turner was already on the team.

its going to be Martinez, no doubt.. Kelly has made it crystal clear he wants bigger lineman.. martinez is 330, Turner is 280
