I don't think you can put the offense and defense together in this "poll". So here's my thought:
Defense: Dorsey with Landry a distant second.
Offense: Hester, just by his sheer will to play, with Josh Reed a close second.
If you count special teams then:
Holliday with Colt David a close second.

All these Hester's are just mind-boggling.

How many post season MVP's during a National Championship season does it take for Justin Vincent to get any love????

I think it's because the OP wanted to know the best 'player' at LSU not the most talented. I'm sure you've heard of guys that aren't all that talented but just seem to make plays and do what needs to be done on the field. These guys are what most call a natural football 'player'. This is why I put him up there. Was he the most talented or excitintg? Of course not. But when the team needed him to do something, he got it done. Period. Same with Dorsey. Although very talented, he was so disruptive in the middle that other teams had to scheme around him. The awards didn't hurt either in his case.

A good argument could be made for Lavalais, Dorsey, Jamarcus, and Reed and maybe a few others. But I dont see Hester.

To me it seems like favorite player than best player. Everyone has their own view though.
