furniss batted 3rd, no? or are we just slotting him at cleanup.

I just reviewed a ton of 1997 box scores that had Larson hitting third and Eddie at clean up.

Holy shitballs what a 1-2 punch that is.

Felt like one of them hit a HR or double every time we went through the lineup.

That entire lineup was devastating. Higgins, Barbier, Larson, Furniss, Koerner, McClure, Bernhardt, Cuntz, Wes Davis could all bomb.

Brad Cresse was only a part time player in 1997 and he nearly hit double digit home runs.

I'm almost certain Eddie batted cleanup behind Larson.

I love defensive baseball, but damn I miss gorilla ball.

Easily one of the most entertaining seasons I've ever watched. I'm glad it veered away a little from this, but we've veered too far. Can't wait for next season when the ball will at least travel a little more.

I miss watching a pitch leave an opposing pitchers hand, and say "ohhhhh frick!"

Yep. Mistake pitches were bombs back then.

Leadoff: Jason Williams; Has ring and Olympic medal to prove it!

And that is completely irrelevant to the discussion
