I know this said individual performances, but individually, the entire defense and Tiger Stadium crowd against Auburn were INCREDIBLE at the Earthquake game - FIRST RATE, SLOBBER KNOCKER!!!!! (Note: LSU, please package this game for DVD - I'll buy it - it would be a GREAT RECRUITING video). There were major collisions in both secondaries. Each individual rose to a higher level. Many props to offensive players on this thread, but that one night in Tiger Stadium, the LSU defense WAS SPECIAL!!!!
Kevin Faulk was SUPERMAN against Houston - I was there also. I saw Kieland Williams (in limited time) put on a show against Virginia Tech. Tommy Casanova against Ole Miss, Billy Cannon against Ole Miss, Chad Jones against ANYBODY!!!!!!!! Michael Brooks' hit on the first play of the game against an Ohio State running back in the flat - that ended in a tie. Karl Dunbar blocked a field goal to keep Ohio State from winning in the closing seconds.

If you're like 18 or under, maybe.

And Hester's performance is definitely up there, but it certainly doesn't "have" to be Hester.

As mentioned already, Faulk, Reed, and Addai against UF in 2004(I believe) are all arguably equal, if not better.

Cecil Collins vs Auburn. When he broke pass the line the LB's and DB's for Auburn looked like they were discussing who wanted to make the tackle. Collins with the right head and help early on as a kid would have been one of the best ever. I told my kids that night at the game to watch closely that you may be looking at the next Heisman winner for LSU. With all that our coach loss the game when he did not give the Desiel the ball on 3rd and short.

Hester vs UF
Addai vs UF
Faulk vs UH

I can't rank these so I just went in chronilogical order. And 3 of my all-time favorite Tigers.

Unforgettable night of course. But I'd put the defensive performance against OU slightly ahead of that. OU was widely considered one of the best offenses of all time going into that game. They had 67yrds after 3 quarters! Sick.

I was there and you are right; however, this was not in the past 20 years so it is eliminated from consideration in this link.

It's "Beano" Cook. FYI. And that's a funny quote if he said that.

He was definitely the biggest contributor in that game but no one really remembers him. 12 tackles, 2 int one for a TD. Unbelieveable

What about Kinchen vs. A&M back in the early 90's. I canremember the punt return (or was it a kickoff) where he ran about 200 yards breaking tackles, for a 80 yard TD. Had another long TD receiving as well.

That being said, Faulk vs. Houston is still my tops. Talk about a heart and soul of a team!!!!

Unfortunately I was at Basic Training, or I would have certainly been there. It is also (slightly) outside the 20 year limit. I would also give the offense/defense/ST/coaching staff/crowd/mascot/live mascot/other boosters, etc. total team effort "Award" to the "Bring Back The Magic" game against Auburn in 1995.
