Worst, IMO, was maybe Loup or Moock, or whoever was starting during the Curly years. No offense to the kid (whoever it was), but starting QB during maybe the worst era in our history has to count for something.
I can't remember for sure who it was, because I've blocked out that portion of my memory. I truly can't bear to remember how awful we were. --Ok, it was Loup.

The epitome of the Saban BBQ buddy. Josh Booty was #2 on the list.

The worst = Marcus Randall. Man, I couldn't wait for him to graduate.
I would take him last year over JJ.
JJ = worst I have seen in over 40 yrs.
JR = best

I do agree that he might have had a pro career at safety, but playing him at QB was not some sort of philanthropic move by Saban. Terrible as he was at times, we needed him both of those years.
I meant all along. He had the perfect size and physicality for Safety. I am sure Marcus wanted to play QB and that probably had a lot to do with it, but Saban of all people should have recognized his potential for Safety. I recall him running down a UT player from behind in the Cotton Bowl. Marcus could have been very solid at Safety, so lets just leave it at that.

The quarterbacks that played for Hallman, and Dinardo after he hired his OC, never had a chance to be successful. They should have an asterisk by their stats in the record book.

Damn, you may be right.
I think I forced him out of my memory. How many int did he throw to hand Bama a victory?
That was him, right?
I dont know though. JJ looked worse than just about every HS QB I have ever seen last year..
Always looking confused. It literally hurt to watch us win games last year.
I pray to God that was because of Crowton and Stevey boy will have JJ turned around like Jason Campbell did at Auburn his Senior year.

It was Auburn and, as bad as that game was, Howard gets way too much of the blame. Lynn Amadee and Hallman should not have been allowed back on the team plane after that game.
LSU was winning 23-9 in the fourth quarter before Howard threw five interceptions. Let that sink in for a moment. Our defense had held the top ten ranked Auburn team (who finished 9-1-1) to nine points, and our genius coaching staff decides to throw the ball around the field instead of running down the clock. It was literally impossible for Auburn to comeback if we would have played conservative at the end of the game.
The coaching staff had to break up a fight between our then defensive coordinator, Phil Bennett, and Lynn Amadee in the locker room after the game.

Toss up between Carl Otis Trimble and Bobby Moreau when it comes to the worst. Given time and better personnel around him, Mike Miley might have eventually been the best.

Agree that he was a great - but mostly recognized as a great pro.

#1- Tommy Hodson has a lot of the records, ahhh the eighties!
Posted on 7/28/11 at 5:00 pm to bulldog95
Hodson was the best. Nothing rattled him. Hodson to Wendell Davis was money in the bank.

Best: Flynn, Hodson, Mauck
Worst: Russell (I don't care about the numbers, he made stupid mistakes and lost too many big games)

Don't know why so many fans are down on Randall. He had some great performances (and to be fair some shitty ones) I'll never forget the perfect pass to Early Doucet right before halftime against Florida in 2004, we don't win that game if he didn't make that throw.

Best-Tommy Hodson
Worst- David Woodley/Steve Ensminger combo package that totally lacked any leadership.
