TAF type tent with a beer garden, cheerleaders, and music for big games would be a good start.

Set up a couple of goals outside and have shooting contests for prizes. Have outdoor food vendor or two...hell, a smallish concert twice a year.

it would be hard to do it for the midweek games but saturday games its possible only problem is time of the year.

maybe if the field house isn't being used they could set something up in there since its right by and it would solve the weather issues

Not true? LSU got 11-12K+ multiple times in 2006 and 2009, and had almost 13K for the UCONN game in december 2006.

Fans have been really slow to come to games since the Dale Brown era even when we have been winning.

I'm not talking about going 8-8 in SEC play, which would be considered winning for LSU, but the last few seasons we've been really good, fans have filled it up.

numbers like that here and there when we had great seasons is not a good thing. Major SEC school, huge baseball and football attendance, and we were dominating the SEC those years. Those numbers should be more of the rule, rather than the exception.

they should but we really haven't had sustained success in basketball lately. its been to up and down for us to have great attendance esp in a town where sadly basketball is 3rd

true, but with very few exceptions that seems to be the nature of the beast in today's CBB basketball landscape. Gone are the days of 3-4 year stars. There is just much less stability. Even powers like UCLA, Michigan, Indiana, UNC, etc all struggled this year.

No way LSU get 11,000 for a game versus McNeese St unless they have a John Wall type player which I don't see walking through that door anytime soon.

true its hard to keep success going with that but we have been far to up and down. we win the sec one year and finish last the next. not that this was johnsons fault this was more brady being lazy and not recruiting that caused this.

i agree though they do need to do a much better job marketing the team but to do that you need a talented player that turns heads and we just didn't have that last year. tasmin was good but he isn't flashy.

i really like the tailgating idea but i doubt we see LSU actually do it.

yeah, but getting 7-8K in there if we were a top 20 team that was fun to watch would be nice. I'd like to see less McNeese and Nicholls and more Xavier, A&M, and some closer ACC schools. I know we'll have to play SOME in state teams as tune ups...

Better marketing and do a better job of keeping basketball on the concious of the fans. College basketball, especially in the SEC, has suffered due to the fact that football is king (always will be) and now football recruiting has become almost a season of its own, lasting until early Feb. By the time fans are completly finished thinking about football, there is only one month left in the basketball season.

I would say that TJ could do a better job of "selling" the program (a la Bruce Pearl and Dale Brown), but that's just not his personality. Possibly the team could schedule some big name OOC games in Dec. and take advantage of the month long lull in football season. Also, play a few big time opponents at nuetral sites like NOLA. (see Georgetown game in the 80's)

(1) Half court shot by randomly-selected fan at half time earns "King of TD.com" for a day and power to permanently ban any poster and (2) full court shot by randomly-selected fan earns right to fire and hire FB coach.

The games need to be more enjoyable. I've said all along that the current seating arrangement blows and isn't conducive to crowd involvement at all.

A unified "Student Section" should help. Aren't they moving all the students down to the lower level behind the goals this season?

Better OOC schedule to start. Daddy Dale was the ultimate promoter and saw the value in these matchups. Marquis matchups, promote the star power and a winning team on the court.

Maybe follow the Bertman plan? I'm not sure what he did (besides winning, obviously), but didn't the baseball team only average a few hundred fans per game when he showed up in '84? Granted, I wasn't alive yet, but when he first got here, didn't they do a lot of community outreach and promos and the like? Seems like a solid start.

LSU is a bandwagon basketball school, so winning is the way to put purple and gold ASSES in the PMAC
