That 2007 team wasn't really all that good. Look at the way Pelini's defense got torched by Arkansas for about 400 yards on the ground. Then Pelini started bragging about how they were able to contain the Arky passing game.

I saw them both. I believe Jones was better. But in Jones' era 52% passing was considered good. When you compare players from two different eras you can't directly compare their stats. You have to compare them to their contemporaries, then compare their respective ranks. As much as I like Drew Brees I don't think he was better than Johnny Unitas. But raw stats would mislead one to believe so.

dude. great qb, but jamarcus was 6'5 230, could throw further, could run faster. it isn't even close.

JaMarcus would start over Bert. Easy. sorry old timers

Jamarcus had a million dollar arms, but a 5 cent head. Could have been awesome. Should ha e stayed for senior year.

Jones was better. Russell was college qb who got by on talent.
