Yeah we can’t bench him. He’s done well this year overall but has hit a rough patch here in Omaha. As a coach, you have to encourage him and have faith he’ll pull through for us. He’s due!

He was 0-4 with 2 strikeouts with a fly out to center that was aided by a 20 mph wind, on top of being 1 for 30 now with horrible attempts at sacrificing runners over in key situation, and 14 strikeouts, but whatever you want to tell yourself. At least we got his clutch fielding.

Again, anyone you replace him with sucks at hitting also. Go drink your bud-light and stop being a negatiger.

You just told a story about how nippolt almost got a hit on a ground ball that hit the pitcher as some sort of reason to play him. I just rebutted with Thompson had 2 hard hit balls today.

You don’t play 69 games with one SS then bench him in Game 70, the final game of the championship series. You expect a starting SEC SS to get out of his slump and make plays
You win or lose with Thompson tomorrow. You bench him and you lose the respect of high school and juco baseball coaches all over the country. And that is far worse for the program than playing the guy who's been hot and cold all season.

You win or lose with pitching. Just like today. I get your point, and I don’t really disagree with it from an outside the program perspective. But Thompson didn’t lose us the game today.

I’m anything but a negatiger if you had followed my posts at all. I don’t ever make personal attacks on players and laugh at most posts downing the Tigers, Jay, or strategy. This, however, has become a different issue and when people offer weak reasons why the play of Thompson has not been consistently awful for a long stretch now, I will address it with facts. If you want to stick your head in the sand and act like Thompson’s play hasn’t continued to adversely affect our chance of winning, then you can be my guest. We are winning because other players have been able to overcome his play and some opponents have failed to take advantage of critical mistakes he has made in the CWS.
I’m just calling it like I see it and considering where Thompson is mentally right now, the evidence points to him having a greater chance of hurting our chances tmw, then helping them, so put down your diet Tab and put on your big boy panties.

This is 100% every NegaTiger frickin frick's mantra. Y'all are always just calling it like you see it as a 'realist'.
You made me laugh. Seriously.

Good show me all my posts that back your theory. Also count the number of positive posts I’ve made and tell me what your find. Weak posters always make big statements with no support or what they think is support that is laughable.

Show me where you backed up "calling it like you see it"
I am just as subjective as you. You're a NegaTiger fricking frick, albeit a smug one.

It’d be bad enough if he was just useless at the plate, which he is...
But he has one or two errors per game.
The loss tonight was really on him, he single handily gave the momentum to UF. Bumped into Tanks in the first on a ball that wasn’t his, flubbed an easy inning ending double play, and bone headedly overthrew 3rd by a mile.
Completely different game if LSU holds that early lead, instead of Thompson giving UF 6 runs.
He can’t hit, he can’t bunt, he can’t field, he can’t throw. Why is he out there

Some team will absolutely pick him up. He has shown he has, and an organization will take a shot at fixing him

Way to support someone going through a hard time. That's what friends are for. I hope he makes a couple of great plays tomorrow. He has made some this year that will be remembered for a long time.

JJ said in the presser that Thompson's going to play. Deal with it and wish him well.

thompson is a complete liability on the field and he's in his head. he shouldn't be playing in todays game. find anyone else to take his spot.

And yet here YOU are not only clicking on his thread but going so far as to add your comment to this supposed pointless thread.
Please keep on being THAT guy!!

That tells you he has no one else.
Poor performance at the plate is one thing. You can't afford to have JT make the fielding mistakes he made Sunday at this point. This is it--this is for all the marbles.
If Thompson makes a mistake at a critical point in this game, he might very well become the biggest villain in LSU baseball history, if not LSU sports history.
I hope he busts out of this slump because he needs it more than anyone else. While he might not be the only one slumping at the plate, he's the only one slumping in every aspect of the game right now.
