His 8th triple double of the year

Became the third youngest player to notch 20 triple doubles, trailing only Oscar Robertson and The AIDS guy.

Finished the game 21/10/15

Will never understand the hate Ben Simmons gets around here. He literally chose LSU over all other programs. He was EVERYTHING on that team. Without him they have a losing record. Sorry 1 man couldn’t propel a team to the tournament. Hating him would be the same as Kentucky fans hating Anthony Davis’s, lol. It’s how college basketball has worked for over a decade. Does everyone think your Duke’s, and Kentucky’s of the world don’t claim, Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum, etc. etc. as their own? Simmons has even said that if he could do it all over again he would choose LSU, and he doesn’t regret going there. Sorry if he didn’t show up to class, or wasn’t diving for loose balls to risk injury. We can be happy he will always have an “LSU” by his name, and is a HOF talent who went #1 overall. I root for him all the time and he’s with Kendall Jenner so how can we hate this man?

No reason to contemplate fans perception of him. The media got a hold of him when the NIT rolled around. Like he was the only reason we didnt play in it....

He was damn near 20/10 for the year and was an all-american on a team with no post presence, and not much of coach. I’ll always be a Ben fan.

Oh yeah, and his assists and defensive numbers. Really wish WW had coached that team, because they could have made some major tournament noise with Big Ben.

The biggest problem with that young team was all the hype they received to start the year. They were too young and too poorly coached. So to what you said TexasTiger, yes WW would have probably made that team a tourney team even if it were only 2 wins better. That’s probably all we needed to get in.

“Not much of a coach” is being kinder (gentler?) than I’d ever be...CJJ makes Monty Williams and Alvin Gentry look like Gregg Popovich. I don’t think people realize how much talent was on that team unless they follow NBA basketball. 5 guys have played in the NBA. Maybe 6 by the time Sims is done.

Even if it was Simmons who said no to the NIT, this board doesn’t crucify every junior who doesn’t play in the “meaningless” bowl game. The NIT is even more “meaningless” than these bowl games. You’re playing for 65th place.

To those who talk about Simmons not claiming this school much, I wonder if you truly realize how much shite he probably took as a 19 year old from grown arse adult LSU fans on social media. Would you be super psyched about LSU after you chose them and got rewarded with ridicule and blame because your team underachieved despite you playing well?

Be better off actually embracing this dude as he’s going to have a long, successful career. It’d be nice if he wasn’t treated like shite by our fans and enjoyed being an LSU ambassador instead.

The AIDS guy.
you mean HIV and an al time top 5 player in Magic right? Greater than LeBron and Simmons will ever be, correct? The one who DID actually play all five positions in a finals when Jabbar was out? The one who was 6’8” tall and could out pass, out rebound and out shoot Simmons? That guy?

Looks at all the fricks I don't give.

Simmons stopped by for a cup of gumbo. He couldn't give two shits about his time at LSU. HIs presence didn't translate into anything meaningful for LSU in terms of success. Tremont Waters accomplished more last year than Simmons. It's not about the individual. It's about the team.

I don't keep up with the NBA. Has Ben Simmons developed a jump shot?

It's not hate. For me, it's a situation where "he's not really an LSU athletic hero". I bought game tickets to see, in person, a "future NBA Great" and was extremely disappointed in his effort throughout the four games we attended.

IMO, he'll be a very good NBA player, but never "one of the greats". Doesn't have the heart.

You probably thought you just really roasted me didn’t you? If it’s all about team success then give credit to WW and the LSU team last year over the team Ben Simmons was on. How did Tremont accomplish more? He may be a better Tiger, but both teams didn’t make the tournament.

Well, let's put that isolated quote into context, shall we?
quote:

Maverick Carter: After Monteverde you went to LSU, you were open about being one and done. Like, I'm here for one year, then I'm out. So is there even a point to go to college for that six, seven months?

Ben Simmons: If we didn't, a lot of people would be losing money. So I think that's the main reason. The NCAA, if they didn't have the stars coming through, people wouldn't be watching.

Carter: If I was as talented as you, would I see a point in that six or seven months of being there?

Simmons: I think no. I think I would have learned a lot more being around professional athletes. Looking at it now, I don't really know what I learned, financially, or just being a person at LSU. I think I've learned a lot more this whole year in Philly, just being a pro, than I did at LSU.

It's really a discussion about whether it's worth going to college for six, seven months rather than going straight to the pros. All Simmons is saying is that a basketball player learns a lot more during a year in the NBA than during a year in college.

That really offends you?!?!

Get over yourself. It wasn't about you. It a general commentary on Simmons and his significance to LSU basketball. Insignificance is really more accurate.

OP is a troll bitch who posts this same garbage post on a weekly basis.

I’m pretty sure there is a rule on here that that mentions flaming/trolling board.
That’s exactly what he’s doing.

Same post, same responses, different day.
