And thinking the reason we could not convert third downs or run the ball at will against a Southland conference foe is dumber.

It's one thing to suggest we held some plays or formations close to the vest...it's another to pretend we were as impotent as we were because of playing coy for our following opponent.

The coaches had no answer for southeastern's defense Saturday night so they circled the wagons and let the clock run out. Well playtime is over Saturday. The offensive line should play a lot better but will it be enough. I can't believe that LSU doesn't have a better option than the right tackle that was on the field Saturday night. Deculus is better Brumfield is injured too.

All I know is our defense WILL keep us in the game barring some crazy injuries or targeting ejection.

The only questions are can our o line push their defensive front around? Can the line give Joe and the WRs enough time to move the chains? They are very good but not unstoppable. Gotta get some turnovers.

I feel great about our special teams also!

did LSU gain much by not showing some of the formations to Auburn versus the benefit of doing so to get some real-game experience?

They scrimmage and practice against our first team D...I don’t know that the ingame vs SLU would have offered more effective practice.

They aren't opening up shite at Jordan Hare with a weak offensive line against a good defense. They're going to go into a shell and hope they can win a low scoring game with FGs and defense.

theres no secret playbook. The offense will look the same, now will there be a few trick plays maybe, but the offense is not going to look any different.

They dont run different offensive schemes different weeks.

People are clearly over reacting. I thought most of us knew the SLU game wasn’t going to be 70-0 with 500-600 yards of offense?

It was a conservative effort making sure nobody got hurt. Not to throw SLU under the bus but it really was a glorified scrimmage. I have no doubt SLU will end up being a good team in the southland. LSU is taking the conservative approach. 31-0 still looks good on paper IMO.

So basically we are to believe we couldnt execute a "vanilla" game plan against a crap opponent but we'll break out a more complicated version or the "real" offense against a far better opponent in one of the toughest environments in the country and won't step all over our dicks?

They'll never see it coming, Slinger is a genius!

Look at you bringing nothing to a thread. And I stand by that statement, even out of context like you've presented it here.

Everyone calm down. It's okay. Here's how I understand it:

LSU ran a vanilla offense Saturday. That's why it was so inept.

It's ok, they'll run the complicated one vs Auburn! It's complicated so it'll be easier to run against a better team!!

Win win for good ole LSU

He's quoting me out of context to try to make me look bad. A lesser person would RA his pathetic posts.

So you think the plan is to run an offense that nobody has any in game experience with against an SEC opponent?

Amen brother. Let’s not get to worried. I’m expecting a good game from two SEC bluebloods. Gotta love it! Hard hitting, big time atmosphere, grind it out game.

Coaches always tell the truth. Saban is NOT going to Bama.
