if anyone tries to sneak in a flask, don't wear cargo pants, they'll automatically pat you down if you wear those. it'll probably be cooler for the game so just put it in your back pocket. also don't drink in the stands, they have people on top of the luxury boxes with binoculars trying to find students drinking in the stands. go to the bathroom in a stall and pound some booze during breaks.

also don't stand on the bleachers, cops can be complete dicks about this. if everyone is doing it, do it, but eventually a cop will come around and yell at everyone so get down when you see a cop. they'll give people usually one warning

like every college, you'll experience some wasted students who'll go beyond friendly banter. just ignore them. most of our fans really aren't that bad

regarding tailgating... since the cops are dicks, most of the tailgate scene near the stadium is older alumni. the farther you go away from the stadium the more students you'll see. if you're a student at LSU, there's a bunch of small houses behind midtown where mostly students live and tailgate, i'd recommend walking around here if you want to find a student tailgate. they're usually inside houses and out on lawns. just be respectful and cool with kids throwing them and they'll let you hang around

Before 7am? Wouldn't know, but that seems reasonable. I know that we were there at 10am and I never saw the police until a drunk Gaytor tried to walk through the band while they were playing. He was "rescued" before he would have been a dead gaytor!

Haha I saw that guy too! Yeah 2006 this dude's out there with him PA at like 6am and starts blasting Cajun music going "Wake up gator fans, we ain't no semi-noles or herricanes, we're the reeeeel deeeel" and I just remember thinking "this isn't going to go well." The front desk got so many complaints that they called UFPD and they showed up in about 5 minutes to 'deal with them'

What's that bar right down from the stadium with the white picket fence and multiple stories, kind of a nicer version of Flo-Bama? I member going there in 2008, really cool bar, great place to watch a game.

I wouldn't doubt it. Not a smart move.
Won't make it this year. Have a great time ... until GAME TIME!!!

The Gator Zone website has maps of RV locations. The one they want you to use is on 34th st. But there are other free lots closer, just go east on Hull rd. from 34th st.
Also the rule is that you can't park before 6:30pm Friday night, that is just to allow the students and faculty to get cars out. A lot of Gator RVs gather in Wal-Mart parking lot on Archer road before going to there parking spots. This might be a good place to find out more current RV info.

nah, I only did this one because of my familiarity with G-ville. I would just check with the Auburn fans over on the SEC rant for any info

You don't need nearly as much knowledge to navigate Auburn as you do Gainesville. Bring a case of beer and a 12-pack of toilet paper and you're pretty much good to go. Park your car wherever everybody else is parking and follow everybody to the stadium. You'll see LSU tailgaters on the way in.

Bee Rye, how well does the traffic flow north after a game? Any shortcuts to I75?

not very well. there are probably some shortcuts, but Gainesville really fricked up their grid system, and it would be confusing to get out of there trying to take back roads.

I shite you not, there are two intersections right next to each other that are the corner of 8th and 8th. if I were you, I would just wait in line on the direct routes to 75. campus is only a couple of miles from 75, and 75 is 3 lanes all the way, so once you get to the interstate its pretty smooth sailing.

Pretty hostile territory for Tiger fans...good luck.

I will NEVER go to g-ville again. In addition to the fans being arse-holes (mainly the women - WTF) the town sucks.

great write-up

any suggestions for a 25-35y/o crowd thursday night? we'll be getting in round 11.

Cafe Risque is definitly a trip. if you're coming in from Tampa it's a must-see. think strip clubs meets waffle house meets sex shop.

any plans for another TD tailgate? i know those that were there remember burning the UF hat and the fight w/ the douches on top of this bus n 08...

if you stay in midtown (by campus), Gator City. Drinks will be cheap as hell.

if you go downtown, try 101 and Sharab.
