the can't wait for a well coached team was repeatedly said in "Is basketball over yet?" threads.

and the same people who said that now are "less impressed" with Mainieri, they are fickle. But you really can't compare TJ and PM. PM has actually won a title and deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Trent won SEC title and got jobbed big time by selection committee. And baseball is a ton easier to win a title because of the series not a one and done. ...and Trent also had to do in a sport where every school cares about it not 7 schools.
Just because its your precious baseball team don't have to get mad bro. I'm hoping they turn it around

but he is still prob a top 10 coach in the country, the SEC is absolutely loaded with great coaches, you could easily put Mainieri in any spot 1-4 right now

Agreed

EDIT TO ADD: Top four spots are rather fluid depending on the success each is having at any given moment.

Seriously what steps are YOU, (such an important and influential person) going to do?
Let me guess. Bitch on an internet message board?

Really???

A NC, 2 CWS trips, and 3 SEC tourney titles in a row don't impress you any?

I would hate to have to call you boss.

I'm not belittling what Trent did his first year, I like him, but what you are doing is just childish.

You don't have to worry about that. Now. Or ever.

That soft spoken nice guy routine cant be found in the clubhouse.. he has a "little mans" complex and is a prick who blames players for losing and takes credit when they win.

It should have been alarming to everyone watching this team during the first part of the season when it became evident CPM was going to play for one run at every opportunity. The bats changed and PM thought it prudent to alter the way LSU plays baseball. I hated the way he was so willing to surrender outs and potential huge innings for the possibility of a single run.

This team only has one legitimate home run hitter and giving up outs is not always the best route even in the restricted bat era.

I would rate CPM as the 4th possibly 5th best coach in the SEC, with Corbin, Sullivan and Tanner leading the way. Despite the obvious success of the NC year, his teams have been far too streaky for my taste.

I challenge you to make a case for Corbin being better than Mainieri.

Take the time to examine the coaching records of those who proceeded Corbin at Vandy. He took a perennial loser to number one in the nation. I don't know whose the better coach but I wouldn't discount the notion that Tim Corbin is superior to CPM.

they are both solid coaches

Corbin was my first choice when we hired Manieri, some say Skip never offered him the job cause his plan was to re-hire himself, and i could believe that he'd try that

Corbin

Single biggest douche in the Conference...next to Perno. Corbin has had ample opportunity (and talent) to make the CWS. How many times have they been? Working the concession stand doesn't count.
