It seems like the moral of this thread is
"IF YOU SHOOT FOR LOW EXPECTATIONS, YOU WILL NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED."

It appears that coaching did matter in that game.
Mike Shula could beat ULM (41-7 UAT, 9/16/06)
Nick Saban could not (21-14 ULM, 11/17/07)

The jury is still out on Howdy Doody.

I'd missed that one! Great stuff, man!

I think what he is referring to, is that the LSU loss sent your team into a tailspin.

You're a complete fricking idiot if you think we lose to La. Tech/Monroe (not sure who we play)
I had totally forgotten that this response was to me. I guess I'm not such a complete fricking idiot after all . . .

No, the suspensions and some bad seeds did. All that is behind us now.

What I think is interesting is how Saban lost the Team last year...Bama pretty much gave up after the LSU game. It looked like he lost the Dolphins' players too.
Has Saban gotten the team on his side fully for this coming season? Maybe the dishonesty factor has caused an irreparable rip in his credibility.

The majority of Bama players this year are not his recruits and even though he had a good recruiting class, only a limited number of those players will contribute on the field.
They could be in for another 6 loss season. Or worse.
Can't wait.

if he is and was such a GREAT coach, it don't matter whose recruits they are. He won at LSU with Dinardo's recruits, but now since they are NOT his at Bama, that an excuse........... :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I am not saying that to make excuses for him or saying he is a great coach...I am saying he lost this team last year and there is a real possibility that he could lose them again this year coming.

Yes and with every Bama win till every Shula player is gone, just using the Bama logic that they use with Miles...
