They’re a nice team, and I realize the parity of baseball now but usm isn’t a program that should be better than Lsu very often.

They do all of the little things better than us. Pitch, play defense, don’t make mistakes, timely hitting.

You had the luxury of not facing Southern Miss’s ace. LSU got our Sunday guy. Neither are draft eligible this year, but both were invited to audition for team USA, which is a huge accomplishment. USM only loses our CF to eligibility. USM could return 8 position starters. A couple of bullpen guys will probably get drafted, but they all have at least another year of eligibility.

We’re not SEC, but we will probably be preseason top 5 by everyone next year.

We’re a mid major, but we are damn good at baseball.

I have zero confidence that we win tomorrow, but some of you guys are downright stupid about College Baseball.

#2 ERA staff isn't exactly scrubs.

However, they are beatable. We need to light them up.

I don't doubt you, but I do wonder how many others feel they will be preseason top 5.

This should be a wake up call.

Wake up call? After you dream about doing half of what these athletes do and not living up to everyone's expectations, you would probably be glad to wake up from that dream/nightmare. Some of you are vicious about how these young kids play, and it's disturbing...that goes for all sports. These kids want to win more than you, they know more than you, and their coaches know more than you.
We all think we know more than the coaches do, but we aren't making bank from being the legendary coaches that we think we are. Anonymity on sites like this, gives a lot of people virtual big balls, that they don't have in real life.

Yeah, but they threw some very seldom used guys, with high ERA's, even though they had available arms after getting 9 innings from their 3rd starter earlier in the day. This should have been an LSU win. USM has all of their top relievers available now. They can throw a bullpen game with some very good arms.

But, I guess LSU prefers that, because they sure hit those guys better than they hit the guys we saw today.

You should come back for football season and see many of us can be downright stupid in two sports.

The question is: Why aren't 2-3 of their pitchers not at LSU?

Because Mainieri couldn’t recruit pitching for shite his last few years.

When you have 2 starters that will be preseason All-American and return pretty much everyone, how do you think it goes?

Dude, you and a couple of others have taken exception to that person's "scrubs" comment, and I don't think any of you have tried to understand the context. No one is saying that team is a bunch of scrubs. It's that the guys they put on the mound yesterday, by the numbers, absolutely fit that description.

They were all seldom used pitchers, and not one of them had an ERA under 4. The guy that threw 5 shutout innings had thrown 9.2 innings all year long.

Do you still think that comment was about a superiority complex?

You have the luxury of having two or three aces. You had the luxury of throwing all your ace relievers on Saturday. You also had the luxury of facing a lineup full of guys who are injured and playing through pain (Berry, Doughty, Morgan, and very little of Dugas).

Any more luxuries you'd like to talk about?

Yes, but not the subject… I referring to the OP…as having the complex.

That’s your take, and I get it, unless you read his mind….

Dude didn’t mention anything about pitching… He just referred to the whole USM team as “scrubs”
