Imagine yourself as a 20-year-old and your Twitter search reads like this:

LINK

... or this:

LINK

... or half the threads here ...

I'm not saying we can't be critical, make jokes, etc., just remember that there are 18-22yo LSU players reading this board, Twitter, etc. These guys are out there busting their asses every day to be the best they can.

They deserve better.

While I agree to not bash a player directly, these players are also receiving free rides that total up to thousands and thousands of dollars. If they want to go to the NFL (ages 20-21 depending on enrollment) they'll have much bigger issues than a disgruntled fan base. Part of the problem with our system is that we like to coddle folks and when they don't get their way, they act like little turds. Some players are very deserving of this negative treatment. You can fight a war at 17, you can tolerate some angry fans ranting.

TL;DR - Don't read the forums if you cant handle the content.

I agree but it's part of what you sign on to.

Big time ball brings a lot of static these kids have to learn to wade through.

The water hose one was fricked up, but the rest aren't that bad. The kid is on a huge stage to perform with people scrutinizing his every move. He knew that when he accepted the role. You would hope this would fuel the fire to improve, not run off the field leaving your teammates behind or posting some passive aggressive bullshite tweet to a transfer.

Trophies for everyone!!!! They are men. They will be criticized in life.

Personal attacks are not acceptable, but expressing an opinion about performance is something all of us deal with on an everyday basis. When I was 16-22 years old and screwed up at work, sports or school I got my arse ripped apart.

To whom much is given, much is expected.

In my opinion if you have to earn something it isn't "free" as you call it.

Yeah if they are thugs maybe. That doesn't apply to Brandon.

Will be interesting to see the difference in reaction if Etling continues to struggle as well. This past week has been past ridiculous.

We have not seem him under pressure, but he won the Heisman this past week, according to some. We have to let the season play out before we anoint one player and write off another.

I agree, I don't take part in personal attacks on the player that is crossing the line and they work hard and it's not easy especially QB. However in life after football you will still have to perform at a high level to achieve success those that can't will not succeed. There are many situations where you will be under immense pressure to succeed at work with a lot a stake. You will always be judged by performance.

I dont know your upbringing but I had to pay my way through college. I wasnt blessed enough to make a squad somewhere, so I had to EARN a wage and pay for college. I was subject to termination for making poor decisions (even accidents) and I would have been terminated had I had a poor attitude. These men are playing a sport that they chose to play. They made a choice to play for LSU. They make a choice every time their actions are deplorable. They make a choice the way they handle disappointments. We live in a society where there are consequences for every action. College is to be a learning environment and I see nothing wrong for calling out a man who is acting like a child.

Yes, you've already stated that. Does not affect the rest of what I said. Earning does not equate maintaining. You must always earn a living. You dont just earn the first paycheck and take the rest of the life off.

We'll probably not see eye to eye based on upbringing.

Post your real name TaderSalad, you are getting a free ride on TD, and I think you should be held accountable by all of us for subpar posts.

Some of us might know that you are a slacker at your job, the one you actually get paid for, and may need to publicly rake you over the coals for it.

Sure and they will be held accountable for their performance. And will be called out yelled at by coaches when they screw up. And the same will happen when they join the work force. These are life lessons. Now personal attacks are a different story, but those happened in life too. You need to learn to ignore it.

This can be said for literally any poster here. Please post where I've raked a player over the coals without justification.

You have a strong accusation to backup. I doubt you will though.

Agreed. Treat them like children they will act like children. We do not need a "taking my ball and going home" kind of guy leading this team.
