Techinically, yes. A two team playoff.

I think they will be #3 this week in the CPUs.

Arkansas drops with a L in the human polls, VT isn't a good team, and will get rolled again by Clemson and Stanford can't improve their position.

It'll all come down to whether or not the voters are itching for an LSU/Alabama rematch because Oklahoma State's computer score could easily be back at a solid #2 if they beat OU in two weeks.

LSU is better than '05 Texas and '97 Michigan. I'd match them up against 2004 USC too. Show me one team that would have a better resume. It can't be done, really. That alone earns them a spot in the top-5.

'95 Nebraska and 2001 Miami are the #1 and #2 teams. LSU easily fits into the top 5 provided they win out.

Your post suggest the current system is crap because it allows for a rematch and that perhaps another system (e.g. a playoff) would be better. Yet, playoff systems are MORE amenable to rematches.

This BCS is suppose to make the regular season matter. I'm in favor of a playoff and welcome rematches then. But our current system is suppose to make the regular season the playoffs. Bama loses at home and that seems to have limited meaning.

Really. So since the regular season is the playoffs, bama should be out; not given another shot.

PJ, I honestly think this team is better than 2004 USC and 2005 Texas. That '95 Nebraska team was flat out nasty. But, if LSY keesp dominating they go on that list, no doubts!

He may have misunderstood me when I said top-5 GOAT. Not #1.. in the top-5.

I very very very humbly submit that some people OVERestimate it. No 1 is behind this team anymore losing to a 26 point dog. They were torn to shreds. Oklahoma having 2 losses already hurts. And no championship game in the Big 12 anymore to give an added boost.

LSU beating Arky next week will do what to Bama's computer score?

A team they beat will lose to a team that beat them. Does that just even out?

Not really.

Take the Sagarin-ELO poll for Oklahoma State:

It lists Oklahoma State with a 2-0 record vs his top 10 (K-State and A&M are 9 & 10) and an overall 6-1 record vs his top 30.

A win vs OU will put them with a 3-0 top 10 record (expecting OU to stay in his top 10) and a 7-1 vs top 30 record in his poll. It'll also elevate OSU over Alabama in the Sagarin-ELO final ranking.

Yeah, basically. Question is how much would LSU drop (they should stay above both Bama and Arky, but maybe not OSU) and how much would Arky go up (hopefully stay below Bama)

It's totally bullshite that we have to earn the right to the BCSNCG by beating UGA in two weeks and all Bama has to do is sit on their arse at home to do it.

I totally agree. We should have lost to Bama and then we could be in their shoes. Fire Les.

WHAT???? THIS LSU team does not have enough offense to match 2004 USC.

IMO the 2003 LSU team was better.

They had enough offense to match OREGON bro. That USC team averaged 35 points per game. This LSU team averages 38. USC also didn't sniff a defense as good as Alabama or LSUs that year.

It would be a damn good game. Studs all over the field. Are we allowing Reggie to play for USC in 2004?

Would Boise have been #2 in the BCS if they had beaten TCU last week??

Admittedly this team is not done yet, but to this point in the season it has been more tested and also more dominant than the 2003 team.
