if bama loses the SECCG, they will go to the Cap1 bowl. BCS games will not take a team coming off a loss(normally oklahoma 03)

and I think the Sugar will take LSU largely in part to its fanbase and economy effects. That could be a huge tie-breaker

Normally you're right, but the fact of the matter is that Bama will be considered a better TV draw and since they have not been to a BCS game since 1999, they are likely to bring in a lot of $$$ to NOLA.

Normally I agree with you, but this scenario is different. This is all assuming Bama plays a competitive game against Fla., if they get blown out Sugar doesn't take them.

LSU brings a lot of people for a day, but Bama would bring a lot of people for 3-4 days.

even with the head to head? look at last year, UGA had won 5 in a row but missed out on winning the east by loosing to Tenn.

This would be an identical situation

But you are dealing with different teams, the Sugar looks at $$$ and TV audience (last year UGA was the better TV draw). When LSU comes to NOLA there is a big one day boost in tourism because the majority of LSU fans make a day trip or only stay one night.

Alabama fans would be more excited about a Sugar Bowl berth because they haven't been to a BCS game in almost 10 years, more excitement usually means more $$ in tourism over 3-4 days. Also Alabama would be a better TV draw than LSU (I don't know why but the networks just see it that way).

This is just my opinion, I think the Sugar would go with Bama in that scenario.

1) We have to win the rest of our games.
2) Given 1), then either of the following needs to happen:
a) Georgia loses a game... They still have to play Auburn and GT. If we have the same record as UGa, they will go on account of their head to head win over us.
b) Bama loses to either MSU or Auburn, which sends us to the SEC CG. Once there, we would have to beat Florida. We might get in at 10-2, but have no chance at 10-3.

you do realize UGA is in the east right? Even if they lose every game from here on it helps us in no way...

There's also the "what have you done for me lately?" scenario.

If we win out and haven't lost since this Georgia game...that will look better than a Bama losing their 2nd game in early December (in an SEC Champ game).

Who knows though? When you think you have it figured out.......BAM, Texas Tech beats Texas on a last second play! It's just too tough to guess college football anymore...

Really, what a fricking stupid comment. If UGA drops another game, LSU's chances for a BCS at large bid dramatically get higher. It would take a REALLY close and good SEC championship to keep LSU from having control of their own destiny.

I would love another BCS game this year but it doesn't seem to real at this time. The thing to remember also is that only 2 from your conference can geaux. Still a lot of ball to play.
