The outside of the bats are checked to make sure they are not flat. They do this by sliding a ring over the barrel. It's what is inside that bat that is not checked.

I think that what LSU needs right now is so Pitching by Ranauldo and some cool headed batters. What LSU needs most is to just play their game, dig deep, and get busy.

I figured it was nothing. The guy in work came in talking about this big scandel that was on Jimmy Ott.

Which team was using Demarini bats? I want to say it was maybe Arizona State? One team was definitely using them. Anybody who has played baseball growing up through high school/college knows that metal bat choice is always a different choice for different people.

But you don't get the choice of brand in major college. Whoever sponsers your team is what you use.

Gotcha. Figured they checked the inside of the barrel too.

I realize that, just saying that different bat choice shouldn't be something to harp about. Nobody remembers which team was using Demarini?

Bat doens't come in to play as much as leving a fastball up and over the plate. I'm sure if our guys got a few of those we'd be putting more out the park as well. And there has been talk about the ball carrying more in Omaha with the wind blowing out.

It wasn't the main topic of the conversation. Jimmy Ott wasn't trying to start a huge controversy. Patrick Coogan spent about 90 seconds talking about it, and his entire call lasted about 3-4 minutes.

I think Arizona St is the Demarini team.

Reg bat. Juiced bat. You still have to hit on the barrel and UT is doing that well this week.

Here is to LSU beating their arse tonight.

My mom's third cousin who's daughter, that has a son that played for Texas but now works for some big company in New Jersey that is owned by this girl who is realated to Augie Buritto's nephew said that Texas is difinitely using juiced bats.

I don't know what to think about it though. Seems pretty reliable to me!

I know they have a big park, but they don't have that many fly balls to the warning track at their field, and why don't they crush em out on the road?
Don't forget that the wind played a huge part in the home runs on Monday.

Anyone can drive it deep when their pitch gets left over the meat of the plate and the wind is blowing out.
