BATON ROUGE — A meat market cashier is dead after he was shot in an armed robbery on Beechwood Dr. early Wednesday morning.
It was around 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7 in the 4800 block of Beechwood Dr. when Baton Rouge Police officers responded to reports of a shooting. At the scene, officers found multiple shell casings and the store’s cashier dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
So far, the investigation shows a man walked into the City Town Meat Market, formerly known as the Ragusa Meat Market, demanding money. The cashier did not turn over the money and instead, the gunman opened fire, possibly with a rifle, UWK has learned.
The cashier died at the scene. Meanwhile, the gunman fled the area.
Anyone with information on the deadly shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers. It’s unclear if police have any suspect(s) at this time.
The cashier’s name has not been released at this time.

Such a nice area, sad that a patron felt slighted over the cut of the bone in ribeye's he was there to purchase for a family meal after a hard days work.

How much fricking money could a meat market have?
Is this some mob front with a poker game in the back?
The other day someone robbed a gas station.
What are they teaching these people in crime school?

Yea, at this point , I would assume any business located in the hood that accepts and holds notable amounts of cash on hand is doing something illegal.
