The Good

2nd - FT% .811
4th - Blocked shots 5.43 / game

The Okay

7th - Steals - 7.57 / game
T-7th - Defensive rebounds 24.00 / game
9th - FG% .421
10th - FG% defense .432

The Bad

11th - Scoring offense 69.43 / game
12th - Rebounding offense 34.00 / game
12th - Rebounding margin -4.43 / game
12th - Assists 10.86 / game
12th - 3-pt FG made 6.57 / game
13th - Offensive rebounds - 10.00 / game
13th - Offensive rebound percentage - .297

The Ugly

14th - Scoring defense 78.43 / game
14th - 3-pt FG% .279
14th - 3-pt FG% defense .361
14th - Rebounding defense (allowed) 38.43 / game
15th - Scoring margin -9.00 / game
15th - Assist/Turnover Ratio 0.67
15th - Defensive rebound percentage .620
16th - Turnover margin - -5.14 / game

In general, defense is okay, but shooting, ball-handling, and rebounding are bad or ugly.

There are some good individual performances in some areas, but as a team, most areas are just not good enough.

The SEC is tough, but you just have to be better. Coach has to play the right guys and put them in a position to succeed. In some cases, the players may not be good enough to win at the highest level of college basketball.

It would be interesting to see what the score differential is when Sears is in the game versus when he’s not. He is our best competitor, shooter, and point guard.

Just to add a random stat. In sec games only, Cam Carter leads the conference in scoring average at 19.7 a game

The worst part is the bad shooting comes in the 2nd half

But MM doesn’t know how to fix the turnovers

quote:

On working on turnovers…

“It’s a challenge and I wish I had the solution at this point. I thought their traps really bothered us and their physicality on that side of the ball. They also influenced a lot of action to our left hand and really funneled things towards the shot blockers and we did not handle that well. "I’ve got to find some solutions to eliminate that, it’s the difference.

They have some winnable games coming up in February. McChicken needs to show that he actually has what it takes down the stretch to compete in the SEC
