What concerns me is that Simmons has shown almost no capability to score outside the paint. I'm not saying he can't but is like to see it. I think you'll see more and more teams crowd the paint. Hopefully our shooters can make the shots.

That game went to overtime didn't it and LSU got 148? How bout in regulation? Probably still second to Marymount game

Couple quick thoughts:
-Them boys from North Florida can flat out shoot the fricking ball. Their defense is beyond atrocious, but they can all shoot. Even their fricking center drained a three.
-Ben is Ben. He was three assists away from a 40 point trip doub and 1 steal and 2 blocks from a 5x5. If he'd done both I think this would have to go down as one of the greatest, if not the greatest statistical performance in college basketball history. We doubted him like a bunch of mouthbreathing mongoloids, and he made us look dumb.
-There are two Josh Greys. Good Grey and Bad Grey. Good Grey splits double teams with ease, destroys defenders off the dribble, and finishes with great consistency. Bad Grey dribbles the ball off his leg, makes retarded passes, and throws bricks high off the backboard. Somehow, Good Grey and Bad Grey can exist at the same time, such as the sequence where Josh made an excellent back door cut, blew the layup, got the rebound, and then tried to put it up amongst three men with more then 4 inches on him. He is an enigma.
-Tim Quarterman gets buckets. Timmy Buckets gets buckets. Also that pass he made to Jalyn in the corner was astounding. He fired a no look bullet across his body, cross court, while in the air. Just insane.
-Our young sharpshooters are still way off. Simmons can't play like this every night (or maybe he can?) so we need them to get out of this slump soon. I'm not sure what it will take, but they have to start hitting these open looks. I will say despite their struggles they've continued to play extremely hard on D as well as on O. Sometimes shooters who are struggling will zone out of the game, but they haven't. Serious respect for Tone and Samp.
-My brother from the Quail Creek apartment complex in Pineville, Louisiana Aaron Epps played great on offense tonight. Other then a couple ill advised threes, he was money.
Huge win tonight, not only for the record, but also for our teams confidence going forward. They clawed back against a tough team with a ton of great shooters. They showed heart and resilience. Serious props to the team and the coaches for making the necessary adjustments.

no need for Benny to do that in order to win. as we saw tonight, we can play the high low game and kick it out to one of our many guards. Benny can post up down in the blocks and get a layup even between two defenders.
we get victor, and possibly hornsby for Houston on the 13th. even better times ahead!

We played LMU Shaq's freshman year, and Beat Arizona on ABC Shaq's sophomore year. That Arizona game was basically Shaq's coronation as one of the best college basketball players in America.

Impressive comeback win.. showed lots of in your face defense and pressure, took it to them inside and moved the ball around a lot. That NF team can drain some shots.

He had 20(8-11 on Fgs) and 6 assists with 1 turnover. He was bad from the line tonight and that's about it. For whatever reason whenever he screws up it gets magnified.

The starting 5 was money tonight. Has keith been able to practice or what? Should i expect him to start or to be eased.

Keith should be able to practice tomorrow and play against Houston. We should have Keith, Big E, and Savior Craig all playing against Houston.

This team has alot of growing to do, but if we make the Tourney which I fully suspect we will, we will be dangerous. Our 3 game losing streak was a sign of a very young team not playing together yet. When this team hits its stride they will be tough to beat.

One would expect this game not to be this close and give up that many points. Does not look good with this team loaded with talent.

North Florida aren't scrubs. They beat Illinois and were hot from behind the arc tonight. Not a lot of teams make that many highly contested shots

In over 20 years of going to games at the PMAC, I can't remember seeing a team coming in and shooting from behind the arc like that.
I'm sure there has been, but it sure doesn't happen often.

quote:gonna guess Kentucky did it back a few years ago. I remember the game (we had Clarence Caesar); we were up 70-40... and lost. We came out hot, then Kentucky caught fire and reeled us in like a tuna. 3's everywhere

Eh, it would help. It is necessary when we play actual good teams.

He has his moments when he can do this, and others when he cant. So hopefully he will work on developing a positive consistency

I know you say that, and people will use that as an excuse for the game going the way it did, but it really was our defense. I wouldnt say they were hot, just that they are one of the better shooting teams and we played horrible, apathetic perimeter defense on them, especially in the first half. Id expect the same result if LSU played a team like Michigan for example

First half D was hot garbage. I think they played fine the second half just NFla was going to give us a fight. Kudos to them. Was a really fun game to watch.
