I honestly thought bass was going to lose his scholly after last year. The kid just doesn't seem to have it. I also expected White to be a bigger presence down low and pull down more boards for us. Season's still young and he has plenty of time to produce.

Agreed. This is an extremely young team that is going to go through growing pains this year.
When you don't get much/any production from White/Turner/Dotson your going to be in trouble.

One good thing was Matt D. seemed to log some solid minutes.

I believe their will be nights where the shots are falling and we look good.
Others like last night, where they don't and we look horrible.

I expect this team to be much different by SEC time, once some of the freshman learn how to play college ball.

yeah dotson and turner having an off night and storm being stuck in the doldrums (i know he's been bothered by a couple injuries) does not help at all. add harris to the equation and that's another player capable of scoring in doble figures on any given night. im disappointed they lost but not really surprised. i mean it sucks, but a team that is basically relying on two freshmen and a sophomore and a guy who hasn't played in a year to lead them is going to struggle, particularly early in the season.

they need to learn how to make a post entry pass. that was the worst thing.

I don't understand Populist and Stringer on the floor at the same time.

Also, is it just me, or does Stringer look out of shape?

matt D so far has shown he's the only one capable on making that entry pass, storm's go to left shoulder jump hook move is hampered right now by his injury and white just isn't a very polished scorer. they start getting some baskets down there and things can open up.

Not in a loss to Nicholls State, unless LSU's entire roster had the flu. It should never happen.

Coach Johnson was right, they need to quit milking their injuries and get on the floor and practice. This is what happens when you sit out 2 weeks for a 3 day injury.

If Johnson is throwing his players under the bus already, it is time for him to go.

I seen stringer in high school and too see him now it looks like he is a player that went from never lifting weights and being on a weight program to now being on one, speaking from experience you gain alot of weight and muscle in a short period of time, but i dont think u could play 31 minutes at the pg position and be out of shape.

but is it just me or does malcolm white look a bit overrated, last yr all i heard was how good white would be for us now i see him and he looks very limited offensively

white has never been a threat offensively, i've been mostly excited about the athleticism/defensive compliment he adds to the frontline with a healthy storm warren. i actually thought he was on his way to having a good game yesterday but then he picked up that second foul too early.

it could be the jersey, but it looked to me like he had a little bit of a gut.

My quick analysis -

Stringer is quick, makes a lot of bad decisions. Walking up the floor and putting it up (he must've done this at least 3-4 times) is an automatic waste of a possession if he doesn't hit it.

Matt D made an AWFUL pass late in the game, but overall, seemed very smooth and his understanding of the game is excellent...he couldn't buy a shot last night.

Bass was awful, immobile, and made multiple bad passes.

Malcolm White is athletic, but needs to put on a couple of pounds to be able to take the beating down low. He gets toyed around with down low.

Garrett Green should never see the basketball court, unless at the YMCA, ever again.

What bad decision did stringer make he was the only person that played that didnt have a turnover and the 3 or 4 times he came down and just shot was at the end of the game when it wa desperation time

Matt D Played very well IMO, A little slow which will make it hard for him to create but overall I had no problem with how he played.

Bass is bass, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. We keep putting him out there expecting something different to happen, lol ridiculous if u ask me

I totally agree with u on Malcolm, the ball seems to get taken out of his hands way to easily.

Dont really have an opinion on Mr. Green
