but there is some stud talent coming up in AAU and JR high right now. Some kids that are already getting national attention. Riverside, CountryDay and St Aug have some really good young big big kids.

Those 5 stars are going to big time programs, unless they want to stay close to home.

Tough loss. Hard to be positive but I am going to try. It's only one game against probably the best team in the country. I have seen all the games on either ESPN3 or Geaux Zone. The one thing I said early on was that the one characteristic this team has is inconsistency. They will bounce back and play a lot better. Hopefully they will win four or five more SEC games.

Realistically we are still in the lower half of the SEC. Trent can coach despite what many say, he just can't recruit. And with losing teams at a football school you really have to have a lot of skill at recruiting. Or you have to pay players to come here which of course is supposed to be against the rules.

A good coach can't win with bad players but a bad coach can win with good players. Next year we lose Bass, Storm and Malcom. We don't have anyone who can replace Bass. O'Bryant can take Storm's place and in fact already had before getting injured but we will have no backup for him. Malcolm doesn't need replacing.

When I say we can't replace Bass, I don't mean he is that great, I mean we just don't even have another point guard on the roster and I haven't heard anything about recruiting one. Stringer can't play point. He is a 5'9" shooting guard. We have recruited one of those that can replace him. We will never win with him playing more than 12 minutes a game.

Even if we get Gaithers, where will he play. He plays the same position as JohnnyO right? So he would be a good backup or he and JOB switch back and forth during the year.

Some of you won't be satisfied unless we win a national championship every year. Me, I'm a fan with the Tigers no matter how bad they are. I'll be happy if we can get a winning season in the SEC. Let the season play out and see where we end up.

A good coach can absolutely win with subpar talent.

Just a procedural question:

Does the win get credited back when Kentucky gets put on probation in a couple of years?

Well, unfortunately for Trent, recruiting is part of what falls under his job description.

I hate people who feel the need to throw this kind of shite in. It's like you're trying to challenge the board to some kind of dick-measuring contest as to who's the biggest superfan. It's stupid.

Well no shite, douchebag. This wasn't meant to be the game thread. The guy who makes these threads goes to the games. People decided to post in this preview thread instead of another one for the game

He can't coach either. I have watched this guy for four years get out coached. The shot selection and lack of discipline on his teams is incredible. He gets schooled in the second half just about every game. Today we call a 30 second time out and tj and the coaches are talking outside the huddle for 20 seconds of the timeout and we called the timeout. Could not believe what I was seeing. Kentucky's huddle was coaching for the full 30 seconds. Watch how many times we come out of a timeout and do something good, hardly ever. MT5 made this guy look like a genius. For us to get destroyed like we did today in this guys fourth year is a joke.

Sorry didn't make myself clear. I was talking about Bass overall position on the team which of course is as Hickey's backup. You do need at least one halfway decent backup for every position. What if next year both Hickey and Stringer pick up two quick fouls in the first half. As everyone tells me that means you absolutely have to bench them. Who plays point then? A walkon apparently because I sure haven't heard that we are recruiting one.

next year I think we'll have:

G: Hickey, Stringer, Turner, Morgan, (Milburn hopefully)

F: Hamilton, O'Bryant, Ludwig, Courtney, (Gathers hopefully)

like to find another PG to go with those guards and a SF a little better than Jalen....

That's a talented squad. Absolutely no excuse to miss the big dance next year if that's our roster. NONE.
