Oral Bob feared the inevitable dynasty hailing from Brookings, SD. There was a very good Grantland long-form article about their conference tournament run written in March.

shot the 3 ball well.

shitty night from the foul line.

johnny o'bryant was dominating but had to leave late in the 1st half and didn't return (either a calf injury or cramps)

hammink and morgan are going to be good.

need to improve transition defense but forced a lot of turnovers.

post depth obviously going to be a concern. coleman, ludwig and courtney will only be able to hold their own so much if o'bryant isn't out there. tuba can't even catch the ball.

i expect a better game from hickey next time out.

Please tell me Klosterman was involved. Either way, I'm looking it up.

You didn't love the "pass it around the perimeter ten times, kill 32 seconds of shot clock, and fire up a 30 foot 3 pointer" TJ offense?

I personally adored zero interior penetration.

JOB was awesome before he got hurt. He was showing energy and effort far ahead what he did last year. Losing the weight has been very good for him. He even was hitting three pointers.

Carmouche, Malik Morgan, Shane Hammink, Hickey and Stringer were all hitting three pointers. Morgan looked great on the offensive boards.

Eddie had a terrible game. I am a supporter but he just didn't do it tonight. Missed a ton of free throws which is what he was great at last year.

Courtney did a credible job on the boards and playing defense. Coleman had a few moments but really didn't play all that well either. Corban Collins had an off game but he is still a quality player and will bounce back.

Defense looked much better than the previous game. Lots of steals and breakaways.

This team will live and die by the three pointers and teams with good big men will kill us under the boards. Fun game and a fun team.

I'm really excited about Morgan and Hammink. There were worries that Hammink would take a little time to adjust to the US college game, and while UCSB isn't the stiffest competition, I'm thinking that won't be as big an issue as first thought.

Morgan is going to get a lot of attention. He's going to have a few huge games this season. When he gets hot, he's going to go off big time.
