also think we should be above state and Naz will be a first teamer when its all said and done
Billy Embody just said on AFR that Naz Reid is really really good at basketball and will be a lottery pick.
*Edit, Said Williams has put on about 15lbs since arriving on campus

I’m sure he’s replaced some fat with muscle, but that seems high for him

Hmmmm...that's interesting. Reports, even one by Billy, talked about how Naz was the only incoming player that actually was overweight when reporting in June and needed to get in better shape. Hopefully the above statement means that he put on 15 lbs of good weight and they leaned him up some.

Good to see Kentucky not #1 on this list.

I'm 98% sure that was about Williams. He did say that Reid is even better than what the coaches had hoped he would be.

My bad you are right. He went into Williams right after saying that about Reid. I went back and listen. Williams tweeted a pic and he has put on about 15 to 20. I'll edit

Great days ahead for Wade and this team. I can't wait to goto the PMAC and watch these guys put on a show.

This might be the first Ree thread that has more upvotes than down. Ironically because Will Wade

This is the most excited I've been for basketball season in a long time. Even the off-season after LSU pulled Simmons and Blakeney didn't feel like this. I've been holding my tickets since the Trent Johnson era for exactly this year.

lsu is one year away from breaking into that echelon
If everything was linear, maybe. But Wade has level jumped with his incoming class combined with Waters. Pearl and Howland have recruited well and built their teams over the past 3-4 years. But neither has brought in a class as highly touted as Wade's class this season.
It's very likely that Waters, and 2 (maybe more) of this year's freshman won't be around next year. While I think Wade will continue to recruit at a high level, this year isn't a building block year. This team is BUILT for a run and it's time to make hay

from a talent standpoint this team is the second best team in the SEC

I’m not talking about experience or any of that. I’m just talking about talent. Our recruits were rated higher than Miss State. Tenn, and Auburn.

TheTexasTiger7 takes recruiting rankings as absolute gospel man lol.

Just looking at facts. If you’re looking at talent then we’re right up there. Tennessee had a bunch of guys who played well together and geld with good coaching last year, but these guys talent wise aren’t on our level. Auburn has a good coach, and they do have some talent in there, but again not on our level. Miss State just had underrated guys who achieved highly last year. There’s no reason we can’t finish better than these teams. Not saying we 100% will, but if the talent works with good coaching again, we absolutely can.

I've just learned to wait it out brother. I've seen 5 star can't miss prospects fall on their face in college and I've seen 2 or 3 star "nobodies" make those 5 stars their bitch. Stars really dont mean shite to me anymore. I'd be lying if I said a 5 star committing doesn't get me more excited than a 3 or 4 star though.

Yeah you make a good point. Just excited for this basketball team, and think we can be very successful.
Posted on 8/6/18 at 7:41 pm to TheTexasTiger7
Yeah im extremely excited. I think Emmitt William's is gonna be a ridiculously entertaining player for us. I hope they use him as the 6th man off the bench and it doesn't hurt his ego. Kid is so athletic.

Couldn’t care less. Football is getting started.

I think it's both. And I love how Wade is doing it.
Making noise bringing in top talent that has the potential to make immediate impact and have instant success, while also bringing in multi-year guys that create the program foundation as well.
It's not a right now and then we'll see plan, nor is it a separate 3-4 year plan. It's let's rock right now and build up the program within simultaneously.
