I will say this one last time IF lsu is the only team to opt out we will look terrible. Where are you coming up with all these other teams opting out when many just started in the last few weeks?

You and a bunch of other fans are only ok with "opting out" bc the season isn't going well...if we were 5-0 yall would be melting if this was being discussed

Topwater: Not teams, lots of players have opted out on other teams. Some opted out after season started. I did not say teams.

Well if a team is 5-0, it is likely there players had a different mindset about the season. Lots of other teams have had players going on with their lives and getting COVID, Wisconsin, Utah, etc. As it get colder in areas in the Big 10, Pac 12 and Big 12, more games will be cancelled.

I still predict teams that start having outbreaks will have some players choosing to just opt out.

I never said LSU should opt out, what I said is that I think most of the LSU players have effectively said I am living my life and not staying locked up in a dorm or my apartment and living under a COVID-19 lockdown situation. And if you think about, that mindset is generally consistent with the overwhelming number of posters here with respect to the Politics of the COVID-19 lockdown, phase 1, phase 2, phase 3, etc, etc.

Some on the other hand have chosen to opt out to not be around a team and focus on the NFL (Chase, Shevlin, Vicent).

My position is not that LSU administratively should do anything. I never said that, but the reality is the players themselves seem to have decided indirectly that they are going on with hanging out with friends, go to their buddies apartments, go out where the Coeds are, etc, etc. otherwise these COVID-19 outbreaks would not have happened. In other words, seems to me regardless of what you or I think, the players have said to hell with the COVID-19 lockdown, I am going to live my life and if I can't play ball do to quarantine, so be it.

You are taking this personally, I am not. I am just coming to a conclusion based on what I am seeing. If the players had been following COVID-19 protocols to the letter of the law, you think we would have these COVID-19 outbreaks. Seems to me the answer is obviously the players said to hell with it, I am going to live my life regardless of the impact on whether I play ball or not.

teams with winning records and good seasons going have been hit by covid. 18-22 yr olds should have a life...they aren't dying from covid.

I am not taking this personally I am simply saying fans advocating for the season to be cancelled while the rest of the conference continues on are pussies. We can gain valuable game experience even getting blown out.

What if we did screw bamas season by upsetting them? to me it would make up for all the bad of 2020.

Well if that is the case, sounds like that is consistent with lots of guys during the open week deciding to go to Campus bars and clubs, go with their friends and watch some movies at their buddies apartment, etc, etc, and bingo, COVID-19 outbreak.

In summary, seems like lots of players said to hell with living under these COVID-19 extreme lockdown situation. Not saying I would do that, but I am in my 50's, at 18 to 20, probably would go on with my life just like they seem to be doing.

Ok fair enough. Like I said I am indifferent, if LSU players have said to heck with it I am going to live and LSU has 20 plus players with COVID each game, I am not going to loose any sleep. On the other hand, if a player looks at the situation as it gets close to December and he perhaps has an elderly Grandparent that lives with his family and he decides I don't want to put them in jeopardy (as they are much more at risk) and opts out, so be it.

In an Ideal world, I wish Chase, Shevlin and Vincent would not have opted out, all 3 were on every NFL draft prospect list as top 90 players, all 3rd round are better picks (Chase a #1). Those 3 could have provided leadership in addition to be legitimate difference makers, and this season could have been different.

Once they opted out, I pretty much expected to be a tough go and this COVID-19 outbreak pretty much suggest to me a large number of players have said to hell with COVID-19 restrictions. Yes, I know 18-22 year olds are not dying,

From a non-football angle, hopefully none of these players with COVID unknowingly spread it to an older grandparent, great-grandparent, etc, who are at risk.

Dude, you are doing fuzzy math. Are you are talking about "just" the fans on this site? The reason I ask is because your post seems to be asking that question. If you think that 80% of LSU fans post on this board then Pennsylvania, Georgia etc..... have a job for you as ballot counters/readers.

I would rather play them with all of our players less Brennan than pussy out and hope for it to be cancelled. You get beat 55-3, so be it.

There are some real limp dicks on here.

It's Alabama (the team and coaches) are the ones who should not want to play us, not our fans. We suck. It's like playing Vandy. Or going fishing and catching nothing but hardheads or Texas trout, whatever you want to call them. Spend all that gas for what? Why Tua your QB or Waddle your WR? The shock is over. We are officially a disaster, but not pussies, huh?

False. 2019 was the best thing I ever watched. I would gladly trade a season like this again for another 2019.

To simplify, for the DUKE. ..We suck. It is Alabama who should not want to play LSU, in my opinion. Why risk the covid or get your players injured playing such a terrible team like LSU if you can avoid it and risk injury to their excellent athletes. They are competing for a championship. What are we, pussies?

Yall have been begging for football for months...they get it to you, and because lsu’s product isnt any good, yall no longer want to watch and want the season cancelled. Weak weak. It may not be the lsu team i wanted, but its a hell of alot better having football then what we had from april till july. Screw that.

This team is almost 20 scholarship players short from departures. Injuries. Suspensions. bullshite Covid nonsense.

And y’all still expect to see positive results and then cry like a baby when you don’t see it.

Half of you can’t see the forest for the trees and are completely, insanely short sighted.

If they have to cancel due to not having enough players, then that's that. Otherwise it should be played.
