I thought Jump left after one?
Posted on 2/2/24 at 8:14 pm to Wee Ice Mon
He did. Herring pitched the next 2.

I corrected my OP to show Herring's innings.
Posted on 2/2/24 at 8:51 pm to ScubaTiger
I think herring and Loer both had 3 IP

Scuba I just went back through the play by play thread to double check and it looks like Jump pitched 1, Herring pitched 3 and Loer pitched 3.
You may have Herring's last inning on Loers stat line.

Yes this is correct per the bpb

Seems like Jay likes Nippolt again. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him play a bit. He’s had a good start, too.
Milam also seems to be finding it.
I mention those 2 because Brown will have to produce to stick. Frey or Larson will likely get first look in the OF if Brown sputters, but you could also slide Milam or Nippolt in for another LH bat and move Pearson back to the OF.

Nippolt has looked good offensively but struggled a little in the field today. I know that may just be a minor blip on the radar and he can straighten it out with more reps.
Pearson made a few plays and looked fluid and comfortable. He's done everything needed of him at 2nd IMO. He looks much better than Dugas last season IMO. I think we see him there on opening day.
I think we all know Jay will insert the best bat and seems ok at times to give up a little defensively. On that note, Milam seems to be coming around into form on both fronts recently and with a sustained trajection looks like a middle infielder of the future. What was deemed a hole in the infield appears to have adequate role players if injury occurs or it becomes necessary to replace a cold bat with a capable replacement.

Anyone have an update on Jump?
Is he hurt, or was it just predetermined that he would only pitch one inning yesterday?

Nobody here likely knows. He threw a couple of innings last week, so this week he was the only starter so far to not be stretched out a little more than the previous week. For all we know it could have been by design to extend Herring and Loer though.

Neal has to be in the lineup at some point this year
