Is that the same Evan Powell on our 2011 roster that never played?

Yes, he transfered to LSUE and now to UL. He's been hitting the ball pretty well to start the season thus far. But he was not one of our projected starters going into the season, has been somewhat of a surprise for us.

Those pinstripe uni's are worth at least 7 runs

Kendall Rogers loves the pinstripes per twitter. Also ULL's bus plans to park legally tonight.

Man, I played against Evan his freshman year and knew this kid was going to be special. Sucks to have seen him transfer from LSU so early but that's how it goes I suppose

Which brings me to a distant memory.. what ever happened to the kid in right field, Cody something from walker. he was a HS all-american, 4GS and all that ..... NOTHING.......

That's what happens when you guys have so much damn talent on the diamond. Some of it spills over and winds up at other in-state schools. I just wish Carson Baranik could be throwing against his former team tonight. That dude is special. He's had a hell of a start. Last weekend at Southern Miss he threw 9 innings and ended with a no decision unfortunately. But he had a shaky 1st inning and gave up 4 runs, 2 earned. But then settled down to sit down 14 USM batters in a row which helped us stay in the game and eventually come back and win in extra innings to preserve our winning streak.
Edit: Forgot to mention Baranik pitched a 1-0 shutout in our first win of the season. Some say he's our real Ace over Austin Robichaux.. but Austin still has a handle on the Friday night spot, for now at least.

To be honest, I say the term "UL" in conversation because that has become the norm in Lafayette and it's just what we call ourselves. It's easier to flow off the tongue than "ULL". But on message boards, like TD, I've decided not to provoke arguments about it because in the end we are ULL... and I'm okay with being called Louisiana-Lafayette.
Sure, I want to be known as Louisiana in sports, because who wouldn't? It sounds better... but it doesn't really bother me either way anymore.

Haha thanks. I also think our program has done some really positive things over the last few years and I'd rather garner respect over our accomplishments than by telling people what to call us. So hopefully we can put on a good showing tonight and get a little bit of respect from the LSU baseball diehards. I know y'all want a win, but a good ball game is what I want either way.
Like I said in another thread, I'm actually more concerned about getting a series win this weekend over another ranked team, Alabama at our home. We haven't had an SEC opponent for a 3 game series at home, maybe ever. So that's huge for us.
