I think we are going to see more growing pains than many are expecting.

I agree with certain players for sure. At the same time, I think we have enough returning production and guys with the experience to make it a little smoother.

I'm more "worried" about the hitting side of things with the transfers. But with someone like Dickinson, all the reports are about how hard he works at things, so even if things are bumpy at the beginning I think the talent should shine in the end.

From the smaller conferences, the main ones we're counting on are Eyanson, Hernandez and Dickinson from a starting standpoint. We should have enough of a core that returned to help stabilize things until guys get adjusted.

I think these are realistic takes Glizzy. The only one I think is a long shot is Dorsey. I'm certainly not counting him out, but he has competition in the closer role.

Good or bad? Not seeing improved control or command vs. his 1st 2 seasons on the bayou.

I’m curious as to who you hope and should be the Friday night ace if not Anderson?

I think most people feel Shores has the higher ceiling if he reaches his potential. I tend to agree with this. Lester Earl feels Anderson's ceiling is right there with Shores. He could be correct, but I think Shores has a chance to be dominant. I'm not sure I think Anderson will dominate top competition. I believe will need some offensive and defense to beat the top teams.

This is definitely true. I think you are seeing that with Dickinson for sure, but he is adjusting.

The flip side is, these lower level guys are getting coaching and resources they never had before. If they were good players without that, than they should just improve.

I asked Jay this question and his response surprised me. He actually mentioned Stanfield as the player that has most benefited from the LSU program. He feels the coaching Stanfield is getting will elevate his game.

How quickly some of these guys adjust like Stanfield, Hernandez, Cowan, Dorsey will go a long way. As long as they are hot in the end, that is all that matters.

Mayers is tricky. They couldn't hit this guy last year. The problem is you can't have him go in and load the bases on free passes with the first three batters he faces.

This is why I have him in the surprise category. If he doesn't gain Jay's trust he will struggle to find a role this year. If he does manage to gain some control, the stuff is really good.

3rd in the nation last year on hits allowed per 9 innings. I could be messing that up, but I am pretty sure that is what I read.

Mayers is Thatcher Hurd 2.0. Great to have him on the team for the potential but the consistency has not shown up yet compared to the stuff.

Agreed... wide variance of outcomes.

There is something to be said about being effectively wild... but with the step up in competition, SEC hitters won't bite if he's not somewhat around the zone.

He didn’t give up hits because he walked everyone. Based on the scrimmages they will not be able to use him in purposeful situations. He is on another level of volatility compared to guys like Christian little & Hurd

I still think they should throw him in the midweek and tell him "you're going 80 pitches whether that gets you through 2 innings or 6 innings."

LSU just released pictures of the rotation. No idea if it's in order but it goes Anderson, Eyanson, Shores.

If you want Shores to be a future starter, I don't think you want him in the bullpen. You start him and have Cowan follow him like Project suggested.

It has really been crickets for Mayers and that's not a good thing. He has all the pitches but it just seems he can not get his control in check. I really don't think you will see much of Mayers except maybe during mid week games. I really hope he can get it together, but nothing so far has shown that he can.

I don't know a single person who's wanted Shores in the bullpen
