Yea idk what he's talking about. Pearson was used as a RH PH bat last year. Costello bats left handed. Reaves was only used last year because Braswell was hitting so poorly so Jay was trying to see if he had an alternative in the IF. Again Costello was a lefty. Neither player was "ahead" of Costello for 1B this year

So, was it a huge mistake also when they are knocking the cover off the ball early on?
They may indeed fail miserably, or they may turn it around, but regardless, talent evaluation is not the issue. All of the guys you mentioned can hit, they hit at their previous stops and at various levels of success, they hit here only a few weeks ago.
I'm going out on a limb and say the team will not have a losing record and will actually improve and be a vastly different team in late May than they are now. If only we had some recent history that might provide insight into which of these outcomes or more likely.

Exactly! We heard the same bitching last season and in 2023 when those teams hit a rough patch. None of us know how this season is going to play out. Last season there were so many posts saying we weren't a championship team after getting swept, and especially after getting run ruled in a midweek game. I guess if they post it every year eventually they'll get a prediction correct.
