Trying to regroup my motor neurons here after seeing 45 runs scored past 3 games. Most Since GEAUX-Rilla Ball of late 90's??
PITCHERS.....
*Cole Henry*...OUT ...Hope comes back In Time for SEC Tournament?? "ACE" Gotta have him
Zach Hess ...Prime-timer out of Bull Pen; but needs to Start out of necessity??
Eric Walker ...Serviceable; but not what he was as a Freshman
Landon Marceaux...hasn't lived up to billing for one reason or another(sore arm set back?)
Mikhail Hilliard...has been serving Batting practice lately
Devin Fontenot... struggled Big Time now; after looking like Quality Closer
Todd Peterson...Strong Closer; then lost Mojo; got some back; almost tempted to "Start" him out of necessity
Matthew Beck...6'-7" ....Inconsistent..gotta Step up...
Trent Vietmeier...thought he was turning corner; then took step back
Aaron George...JUCO middle reliever that shows up on occasion
Chase Costello...Fr. got lit up vs La.Tech
Will Ripoll...Freshman shows some promise; but not there yet
Riggs Threadgill...Fr. poor outing = Disaster vs. Arkansas
Rye Gunter...Fr. almost forgot he's on the Team
Jaden Hill....OUT...10-20% of coming back??
Caleb Gilbert ....OUT
AJ Labas...OUT
Nick Storz ...OUT..was hoping to see 6'-6" 250 Power Pitcher..Not
Easton McMurray...OUT ....Only "Lefty" on Team/ sure could have used him

I'm interested to know why we think Henry is going to be back in less than 2 weeks. I mean he's been cleared for weeks but for whatever reason isn't coming back. I mean has he even thrown lately....we haven't heard much about it if he has which seems like bad news because if he were throwing comfortably I'm sure Paul would be trumpeting it from the highest mountain. I just wouldn't bet on getting any pitchers back this year that aren't already in the rotation or bullpen....which I know is a shitty prospect but it is what it is.

I think its funny because you haven't heard he was throwing means he wasn't. Just because there isn't structural damage in the MRI means hes cleared?
Storz is also close to coming back.
Storz is also close to coming back.

If he were throwing and was on track to be back in less than 2 weeks I'm 99% sure Maineri would have mentioned that to this rabid fanbase....although granted in the last 3-5 years Maineri has been making some boneheaded decisions and seems checked out at times.

I meant cleared medically not cleared to pitch goof.

That seems more optimistic than what little we have hear on him. However, relying on Storz at this point seems strange.....who knows what he is going to be able to do when he gets out there.
ETA although granted it can't be much worse than what we know we have.....but I still don't expect him to be some kind of savior ..I hope I'm wrong.

It was over a week ago when Paul said he has no medical issues I know. I'll let you find the interview I'm sure you can figure it out.

That’s a great breakdown of our situation.
Excluding the injured guys, which of the other 13 pitchers has improved from the beginning of the year till now? None, is the answer. Not one of those 13 guys can be counted on with any confidence right now to do their jobs. That is either a gross misevaluation of talent or an absolute failure in development.
Now, in regards to the injured pitchers and the two or three guys listed as healthy (Marceaux, Hilliard, Walker) who have returned from injuries, what is the real reason behind them? Everyone wants to blame overthrowing at younger levels. It’s possible that’s the reason. But I find it too coincidental that LSU just happened to recruit so many pitchers whose arms are giving out right before the season starts.
I really believe something else is going on with training and preparation and it’s internal to the program. That coupled with very poor staff construction ( no lefties), and you can throw in poor catcher recruitment too, and you’ve got the product we’re seeing on the mound.

Storz has been close to coming back for 2.5 years

so we've gone from a 2 see that nobody wanted to face, to a 2 seed that everyone wants to play so they can work on their hitting.

That's not really accurate considering the following two things:
1) He hasn't even been on campus for 2 years
2) He actually pitched last season

I see 7 guys who can pitch right now. Yes theyve struggles off and on. Several are getting experience this year but when your not deep with upper class man you rely on defense ( got to keep it IN the ballpark) and really good quality at bats. We’ve fallen off on both bats and defense.

If they are desperate enough i guess.
But Cabrera should be Batting CLEAN UP after 2 solo HR's last night. He can't be batting 6th or 7th anymore.
