LSU was 7th in a 12 team league for runs scored, which is the most important offensive stat.

I just would like to see the team not force its pitchers to be perfect in order to win a ball game.

If LSU had only scored more runs last year in SEC games maybe we would have won the SEC championship.....

For me, 6 days rest really isn't very short. Plus he only threw 83 pitches Friday. While it is early and there's no reason to risk injury or anything like that, I don't see that being a problem after 6 days. His arm is fresh and I think he should 100% get the start. Keep him on an 80 pitch count if you need to, but I say pitch the big guy.

I bet if the centerfielder doesn't make that play on Laird and he went 1-3 last night with an rbi walk no one wants him benched today.

I sure don't want him benched.

So you like him in the second hole? I'd rather Rhymes there.

No. I never understood why PM insists on putting a high volume singles hitter in Rhymes in the 3 and 4 spots. With Laird's speed, I guess I see his reasoning, but his inability to get a quality bunt down would make me move him to the 8/9 spot. He needs major work on that if he's gonna continue to hit in the 2 hole.

Laird is the best bunter on the team probably.

The Nola conversation is probably moot. Weather looks awful for tomorrow.

Why can't we bunt it down the lines? We always seem to bunt it right back at the damn pitcher.

Or, if LSU had not let a below average pitching staff hold them to 3 runs over the final 18 innings of a home Super Regional then another trip to Omaha would have been added to the legacy.

And before I get accused of letting one weekend form my opinion, we went 1-2 in the SEC Tourny thanks to lousy run support not helping out the great pitching.

and if we are gonna play in a game where it may get rain suspended Im 100% down with pitching relief pitchers all game, but I don't think (given good weather) the 6 days rest rather than 7 is as big of a deal as it is being made to be.

Hell of a lot of bitterness up in here for a 4-0 team

I watched him lay down bunts for hits in scrimmage.

It sure is.

Saban called it the "catastrophe syndrome" referring to LSU football fans. I keep hoping baseball fans will be different....

I trust that you saw this because you posted many times about scrimmages, but he has yet to execute the assigned bunt in a game, which has been at least 3 times I can remember.

He certainly needs more work bunting.

Not ready to jump off of a cliff, just debating LSU's ability to support their great pitching staff from the last couple of seasons.

Hopefully he'll start doing that when it counts.
