seriously, the slide to the two seed is in full force, and we WILL NOT HOST, i would be money on it. there are too many good teams and too many teams that care enough about baseball these days to keep letting 2 seeds host regionals. we are playing like absolute horseshite and its going to show in our ranking and seeding

yeah. I think 17-13 will get us hosting but damn... I think that'll be tough even.
Yeah, I see more like 16-14, which is 39-17 overall going into the SEC tourney. I think we'd need at least 2 more wins there to get a regional. 41-19 would look pretty good on paper.

you planning on two rainouts ?

Fixed it. Forgot the two losses. I still think we win both series, but don't sweep either.

and shouldn't host
I mean, if we sweep UK and State we'll be 18-12 in the SEC...

1-8 in our last 9 and you're thinking 2 straight sweeps?
Posted on 5/9/10 at 4:09 pm to BilJ
no I'm just saying if it were to happen, they'd host

We could possibly lose 3 to Kentucky next weekend. So I think we should wait to predict anything much less host a regional or even be give a high seed like a 3.

this team is mentally done ... it will take a virtual miracle to turn this thing around .. who on this pitching staff is suddenly going to go louis coleman/trey hodges lights out ?? the only possibilities are AR or ross ... friday night at UK .. if AR gets in trouble, they just need to leave him out there and let him push through it rather than going to the bullpen in the middle innings .. just give it a fricking shot ..

tough to even really figure out what's going on at this point. Is the talent not as good as we think it is? Is Grewe a shitty coach?

According to Boyd's World RPI, LSU (#14) would host a regional right now, with UConn as the #2 seed, then travel to Charlottesville (#3) for the Super.
Probably about as good as you could hope for with the way this team is playing right now.
Let's hope for a turnaround.

I agree. we need 2 get our swag back and then focus on Kentucky and then after that focus on State and also we need to PITCH BETTER & HIT BETTER!!!!!!

i think it is a lot of things ... first, you don't have louis coleman as the steady, saturday slump buster .. secondly, this team doesn't have a true lead off hitter with watkins out of the lineup .. third, you miss D.J. really bad at 2B .. his 6-4 frame gobbled balls up in the gaps that tyler hanover can't get to and turn into base hits .. fourth, your 6-4-3 DP combo is not as good as last season .. of course, not having schempf's power in the line up hurts too ... i guess if you just go down the line and compare position by position 2009 vs. 2010 and the picture becomes much clearer ...

as far as pitching goes I really can't figure out why Vanderbilt can trot that many guys out there who can consistently throw in the 90s and we have what 1 guy who can do that?
Posted on 5/9/10 at 4:33 pm to Elleshoe
18-12 along with some momentum and a couple of wins in the SEC tournament will get a regional.

i think AR's career year, coleman, three solid outtings by ross and ott masked major problems with our middle and long relief talent .. your SEC starters consistently got you to the 7th and 8th inning last season .. this season, it has been a miracle if they go out for the 4th inning ..

i think we host if we dont absolutely shite the bed the next 2 weekends
