I agree with the other guy. An appeal should not be allowed unless the ump is on the 1st or 3rd base side.

Bertuccini, Cotton...Hopefully, Matulis will settle and be able to get though another few innings and then there won't be an issue. We have some relievers who might be available for a batrter or two but that is it

I agree with this...an ump at 2nd is in no proper position to make an accurate call on a check swing...

imo,,, and only mo, dean was off on ground ball contact, 3b was moving toward second on a hard hit ball. they were together in a flash, and if dean had tried to evade out of normal path, would have been called out anyway... just a hard situation to be in. but, imo, i dont think it was terrible baserunning..
