Fraley would do well to swing at strikes. It's that simple for him. Every ball he pops up (and there are plenty) is a ball down and in. And he just can't lay off of it. That's our junior leading us.

Deichmann walks. Out. Then Krob swings up 2-0 with warning track power and Fraley swings at the first pitch. That's not going to get it done.

KRob hit that as hard as he can...that's the furthest it's going to go. Unless the OF falls down or loses it in the sun, it's a routine popup.

This team might win 10 conference games with these approaches at that plate. No discipline, swing just to swing, don't know what to look for when the count is 2-0 or 3-1, it's going to be a long SEC season.

Is that not fundamental baseball? Down in the 9th in a "reachable" situation (2-4 runs), you take until you get a strike? Right?

This is pre 1984 stuff. I don't care how "young" we are, it's unacceptable. We've had Freshmen come in and crush the ball in the past, like OTHER teams do now. Tired of excuses, CPM needs to recruit full grown athletes that can hit the freakin ball, or go someplace else with his little man ball.

Yep.

Also, what in the frick do we gain by putting in Cartwright?

Nope. If there is a positive, it is that we got 3 excellent outings from our starting pitchers.

is the key word here. 10 wins would be an accomplishment for this young group.

To hold A&M to 11 runs in three games when they were averaging 8 - 9 per game is a definite positive. Two major negatives is CPM's pitching management and the total lack of clutch hitting. Is the batting coach on a sabbatical or something?
